I've recently adopted a semi feral cat ( 3 weeks ago) she was spayed last Friday and I've been looking after her in one room. She still hides much of the time and won't eat or come out while I'm in the room. Sometimes at night I hear her crying and looking out of the window. I have another cat ( also an ex semi feral) and wondered how long to keep her contained in the room and how to introduce her to my other cat. Any advice would be really helpful. Although I've tamed other semi feral cats, she is different because I bought her into my home whereas they choose to come in themselves after a period of time feeding them outside.

Hi!
Try some cat music, low volume and for just a short time and see if that helps. Also, a purr toy or a heartbeat toy might help.

Sit on the floor and read pleasant things out loud, or just sit and work on something. Don't look directly at her, that can seem aggressive to cats.
I don't know about how long this might take, since every cat is different, but now that she's with you she's safe so you have plenty of time :)
