So I recently adopted a female cat and I want to neuter her but I think that she just finished her heat period, what should I do? Should I wait and see if she's pregnant then neuter her after she gives birth and her kittens grow up or is it okay to neuter a female right after heat?

It’s fine to spay after a heat cycle. In fact, vets will charge extra to spay during a heat cycle as veins are engorged, so after is preferred. Raising kittens is far more laborious and expensive than spaying now.

It won't have problems to her health? I was worried if maybe she's pregnant now after heat and if that would cause her issues in surgery

No, it shouldn’t if she is in early pregnancy. Did she mate while in heat? If so, how long has it been?
It has been just a day since i saw her mate and then I brought her home and closed the doors so she doesn't go outside and now she seems calm except that she scratches the doors to get out, her surgery is in two days and I wanted to make sure that nothing will cause her health problems, heat period is so stressful

just after heat is the perfect time, esp if you suspect she had mated and you dont wish kittens.

I have spayed a number of feral female cats who were pregnant, and certainly more than one day after mating. There was never a problem and they were released after a day back to their original outdoor living place.

If she mated yesterday and is due for spay surgery in 2 days, it's unlikely she would even be considered pregnant at the time of the surgery, it can take a few days for the sperm to fertilise the ovum, so it's nothing to worry about. Do let your vet know that you saw her mate, but don't worry about it being an issue.

Far better that she is spayed, she will heal quickly and it won't be as hard on her body as going through pregnancy and rearing kittens :)
