In addition to making the girls’ food from scratch using Dr. Pierson’s recipe, I also use Small Batch blends—the turkey and the rabbit—for batches. These have nothing in them but the meat, bones and organs (80/10/10 according to SB) and are ground. I add supplements, of course.
I’d like to add some chunked turkey (Lily is on a no-chicken regimen) to these batches so the kitties’ teeth get a workout. My SB batches are three pounds to align with Dr. Pierson’s recipe so I know how to measure out my supplements. Am I correct that I shouldn’t add more than 4.8 oz. or 10% of chunks for each three-pound batch?
