that's good to hear, yeah kitten one concerns me a bit but I'm watching over them now a bit more and seeing when I can get that one a little extra nursing time. Moma cat has also not been eating the canned food like she was before and is eating more dry food. Not sure what's up with that.

I think Something is going on here.

   8/31  9/1 today

1 239   243  +4

2 239   247  +8

3 246   250  +4

4 222   229  +7

I don't know who to worry about/help as it's a different kitten all the time. I'm watching them extra close at the moment though.

Weight gain will vary.  Concentrate on giving mom enough food and water.

They are 11 days old and all between 8 and 9 ounces, so they are at a good weight for their age.  Keep weighing and watching,  You're doing a great job.

It's normal for them to slow down then catch up. You should worry when one kitten is consistently gaining less, not gaining at all, or losing. It's good that you are keeping detailed notes. If everyone is acting normal there isn't much to be concerned about. As nice as it would be if all kittens gained weight consistently, that isn't always the reality. Sometimes they'll gain a lot one day then a considerable amount less the next day the back to normal the next.

Okay, yeah mom has dry food down 24/7 and gets wet food her preference whenever she asks for it. Or goes looking for it. I can tell when she wants it and I always give her about a 4th of a can as that's what she eats at one sitting. After the wet food she settles in to nurse. They nurse well and are acting normally, peacefully sleeping until mom gets in the nest or one of the other kittens starts a wake up of everyone else.  I'm just going with it and keeping an eye on everyone. Thank you for your reassurance that all is well. They where born on the 20-21st  I say that because it was late at night when she started delivering and she finished at about two in the morning.

The kittens gained like they usually do between yesterday and today. All is well and the advantage arrived. Just waiting for moma cat to  finish nursing and her other mom duties before I treat her.

Got moma treated with advantage II  had to make her into a purritto to do it though. But it was worth it as  I'm only finding dead fleas on the kittens now and they are doing much better already.

They all appear to be gaining quite nicely.

How is the flea situation since you applied the Advantage to mom?

You've got 3 who lost and one who only gained a gram. What's going on?

No clue going to try to figure it. I'll weigh them again tomorrow morning in the mean time should I start supplementing. I weighed them about 10 am and then I weighed them again at 7:35 central time.  I'm hoping my scale is just so cheap that it's off weight. But the container I use to weigh them is always weighing the same before i zero it out to weigh the kittens. I was going to try to supplement the one that lost the most and I can supplement the others as well. I just need to know how much and how often.

I do wish I had seen your post sooner, I never treat any mother cats with any flea pesticide due to the fact the kittens, by climbing over the mother or in her fur could possibly ingest the chemicals unless they are fully dry, which takes about a day, I'm not sure what you can do about it now other than feeding them like you plan to.
