My kitten ie rescued just got a major commercial for Iams I hv now only 6 left but all passed on older then 18 years ! SO MY STUPID QUESTION IS my recently 18 year old cat became blind! No all blood work normal no hypertension etc etc so what to do ? $ is not a problem I spent 30 g on dialysis on my 24 year old so anyone smart enough to know!? Because I need help with him from California ! FYI yes all shots indoors

Sorry your cat is having problems.

None of us are vets so we can't diagnose problems.  But it sudden blindness could be caused by a number of things--my first thought is a stroke or hard hit to the head.  Is he blind in both eyes or just one?  Any discharge?

He needs to go the vets asap.

Normally something like this is caused by hypertension, but you're said that is NOT the case?  Did he recently go under anesthesia?  Sometimes that will do it, and sometimes it goes away with time is that's the case.  Otherwise, cats are pretty resilient and learn to live with their disabilities.  Just don't move the furniture or leave cabinet doors open.

Did your Vet not offer any ideas?

for the old guy.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Has he been on any antibiotics? Baytril can sometimes cause blindness. If money isn't an issue, why not see a small animal opthamologist specialist? Hopefully you live in an area of CA where one will be available.
