Hi, on Monday morning my beloved kitten Coco went in to be spayed. When I picked her up in the afternoon, she was dribbling, glazed over and all soppy. We put her in the spare room, with everything she needed and let her rest.
By the evening she was trying to play (in an uncoordinated way) and also trying to rip at her stitches. I put a tube sock on her as vet said she wouldn't need a cone but was definitely ripping at the stitches, not just licking. (we tried a cone but she went nuts and I thought she'd pop a suture)
I stayed with her that night and the following day. She was still sleepy yesterday day but by the evening started leaping around (even trying to climb the curtains which she loves doing.) Tube sock is still in place and stitches are looking really good, no pus or infection.
This morning the mum cat who lives next door but comes in often, was found running and playing with her and again she was leaping on the curtains, up and down the hall and anywhere she's not suppose to be.
I have tried stopping her, putting mum outside, keeping her in one room but she's like a whirlwind. I am 8 and a half months pregnant and I can't really stop her movements easily.
Should I try and restrict her more? or as its been a couple of days now, is she on the mend?
Thought because she was so young that recovery time is going to be quick. I have tried to not play with her but she looks so bored and wants attention. Also mum is crying outside our back door all the time and wants to come play.
Any suggestions?
