He's a lovely brown classic tabby. It's a very pretty tabby pattern, and is also one of the most ancient mutations in the domestic cat. Here is a nice video that talks about cat domestication and mentions the spread of the classic tabby gene throughout the world:

That said his classic tabby markings are very nice and very expressive. Above average!

Classic tabby pattern! My Fennimore and Willow have the same pattern. From what I understand, classic brown tabby is pretty common. That does not mean the cat is any less special, though!

Yeah I have a few both breakaways and just straight up collars
