I have 3 kittens about 11 weeks two use the litter box and one we are having trouble training the vet said to put his poop in the litter box and let him smell it but it isn't working.

Called the vet to see what litter I should get or if the one I am using is fine

We are using arm and hammer double duty clumping litter

Usually with kittens that young you will want to use a non-clumping litter. Kittens that young can decide to try to see how litter tastes and clumping litter can cause internal issues if they do.

Are the kittens just missing the box? Or are they going a completely different spot?

This article may help some,
How To Train Kittens To Use The Litter Box

Two of them use the box but one doesn't use it at all when you sit him In there he gets out of the litter box

What brand is the best? I am waiting for the vet to call me back

As long as it is non clumping and unscented it will be fine.

That is odd that only one is having problems. They usually pick up the habit from Mom and watching others. Do you have multiple boxes? It may be that the one doesn't want to use the same box.

Curious.

Try changing to the non-clumping and see if that helps. You may want to try a litter box with lower sides. Maybe if the box is covered remove the cover, or if it is uncovered try one with a cover. There is something about the current set up that simply isn't appealing to that one kitten.

I've heard good things from people about yesterday's news. I haven't used it for cats myself though so I can't give a first hand account.

Sorry you're having trouble training your one kitten to use the litter box. :(

Has he kitten ever used the litter box? Does he just "go" wherever he is at the time, or does he use the same spot/area?
