Pros - Cheap, cats love it
Cons - Cats love it (too much), addictive, suspicious ingredients
My cat, Pepper loves this product so much, that she has started to not eat her other treats, scoop her healthy treats out of her bowl. This is so addictive to my cat it's insane. The ingredients are seem very unhealthy, I'll paste them right here (only one of the flavors though, for less reading time): Seafood Medley Flavor Ingredients: Chicken By-product Meal, Ground Corn, Animal Fat (preserved with BHA/BHT), Rice, Dried Meat By-products, Wheat Flour, Natural Poultry Flavor, Corn Gluten, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Salt, Salmon Meal, Calcium Carbonate, dl-Methionine, Taurine, Vitamins (dl-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate [Source of Vitamin E], Vitamin A Acetate, Niacin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride [Vitamin B6], Folic Acid Supplement), Trace Minerals (Zinc Sulphate, Copper Sulphate, Manganese Sulphate, Potassium Iodide), Iron Oxide, Dried Cheese, Shrimp Meal. In conclusion, Temptations is not a good cat treat brand in my opinion. I do not recommend it.
Pros - Call my cat and he may not come, shake a bag of these and he comes running.
Cons - Hard to get my cat Taz to eat dry food he wants Temptations treats instead.
Purchase price I posted is in Canadian dollars for a 85g pouch.
My cat Taz loves the seafood flavors. This is one of his favorite treats. Taz knows where we keep them and often he runs to the drawer we keep them in. When we get home with grocery bags I have to give him some treats otherwise he gets into the bags looking for them. He knows his treats come home in grocery bags so if we come home with bags and Taz has no treats he is unbearable. These treats are a great value.
Pros - Cheap, common across stores, well liked, variety of flavors
Cons - Addictive, not incredibly healthy
My cat is absolutely addicted to these treats. She constantly meows for them, and has even torn through packaging to get to them, which makes the ads accurate. Some of the ingredients aren't all premium, but you get your bang for your buck. These treats have lots of flavors, like catnip, chicken, steak, tuna, etc. In conclusion, Temptations are inexpensive treats, and tasty according to my cat.
Pros - Variety (Crunchy Outside/Soft Inside)
Cons - Sometimes Hard To Chew For Older Cats
My cats adore Temptations.. This is, by far, their favorite treat. They love the flavors and enjoy the combo crunchy and soft texture. My older cat has a little trouble chewing them but that doesn't seem to slow him down much. I have to hide the bag after they have met their daily limit!
Pros - Good treat for cats to give every once in a while
Cons - It can be addicting
As an animal shelter volunteer, I would give the cats there a few treats. I try to keep the number as low as possible, only because they become so addicted, they may want more. Overall a great cat treat.
Pros - cats loved them
Cons - cats were sick after eating them
I'm not happy with anything that seems addictive and these definitely were, more than Dreamies, which actually my two prefer. They have only been sick three times in 11 months, one was swallowing a feather from a toy (now I ban all toys with feathers) and the other two was after eating Temptations. So they too are banned. There's something not entirely right about them to make two very different cats very sick within half an hour of eating them.
Pros - Cats cant get enough
Cons - Cats cant get enough
My cats have always been crazy for them and the one I have now is no different. But it gets to the point they wont eat their food they just want the treats
Pros - Cats love this, great price, nice and small
Cons - NONE!!!
My cats love these treats. Great price and size. I gave these to a cat at a store and she loved them.
Pros - cats love them
Cons - There are much better treats out there
I think all cats love these. I think it's in the cat's handbook.
These treats are sold everywhere, they are often on sale, they put coupons out and come in a large variety of flavors and types. They just aren't the best treats out there for an obligate carnivore. I try to keep their consumption of these to a minimum but I do keep them in the house. Even the dog loves them
So, if your cat loves these like mine love these, keep them around. Just don't make them a main part of their diet or even their main treat source. IMO, Pure Bites are the king of cat treats but these do deserve an honorable mention.
Pros - cats are addicted to these treats, good for positive reinforcement
Cons - sketchy ingredients
Just the slightest shake of this bag of treats will bring all cats running. I don't know how they've done it, but my cats are addicted. Rocky can't have these anymore because of his food allergies, but Bijou still gets them as a special treat.
I always give out these treats sparingly because of the ingredients.. which include meat by products, animal fat, and a very long list of complex chemical sounding things. It's definitely not the most high quality stuff out there.
I try to opt for healthier treats, but every now and then this is a special treat. The way I think of it is as junk food for cats- it tastes great, but too much of it isn't going to be that good for them in the long run.
