Pros: Covers broad range of non-verbal cat communciation, from basics to less known useful nuggets. Easy to read and well illustrated with photographs.
Cons: It left me wanting to know more.
This is a well written and clearly illustrated book covering a wide range of cat postures and what they commonly indicate.  Written by an animal behaviourist, the book is written in short chapters in which 2 pages are devoted to a single aspect of communication such as Greetings, Stroking, and Cats and other animals in Social Animals, and Scent messages, and Other cats in the territory in Territory.  The Fitness and Hunting section covers a great range of natural behaviours, and explains how they present in day to day actions of both indoor and outdoor cats.  It will answer many questions for people new to living with a cat, and give answers to why almost all cats do what they do; from hiding, chasing, displaced hunting, catching, to feeding grooming and litter behaviours.   Other sections include safety, and the next generation (breeding behaviours and kittens).  There are short sections about people, toys and games, and training at the end which repeat briefly some of the basics together with the concept that cats learn from positive experience.  Easy to read as complete book or as reference for a particular issue or behaviour.

If looking for advice on 'training' and modifying cat behaviour this is not the book for you, but if you want to recognize body postures and expressions, know if your cat is content and what they might want from you this is a great start.  The text and photographs are equally suited to self learning or working through with a young person learning how to play and interact safely with their fur family.  It uses the format of photograph illustrating a posture beside text describing what you are seeing, and why the cat is doing this.  Combination of single cat , cat / cat , cat/dog , and cat human postures used.

It could be re-title the human training manual, and shows nicely that if children and young people are given an understanding of cat communication cats can enjoy interacting with them as much (if not more) than other humans.

I got this book shortly after I adopted Mouse as I wanted to understand some of his play postures better.  Cost in the UK at that time was £6.99 and I felt it had more information and more useful information than all the other books I browsed through at the time.  Great value but I would love if it had even  more in it!
