  • A popular cat expert and award-winning author of four books on feline behavior reveals the key to a satisfying and rewarding relationship with your cat. Think it's impossible to train a cat? Think again! Yes, you can learn to understand your cat. No, cats are not always aloof. No, they don't ruin furniture out of spite. Most often feline "misbehavior" is the result of owners not understanding their cat's needs. In this comprehensive book that takes readers through every step of cat ownership, Pam Johnson-Bennett helps you understand the instincts that determine feline behavior, positive and negative. An authoritative resource for cat owners of all stripes, Think Like a Cat covers everything from where to get a kitten to choosing a vet; from basic health care to treating more serious medical problems; from selecting an irresistible scratching post to avoiding litter box problems. A seasoned therapist and former veterinary technician, Johnson-Bennett offers welcome advice in a straightforward manner that will help cats--and their owners--share a happy, healthy life together. Johnson-Bennett's first book, Cat Love, was chosen by Cat Fancy magazine as one of the best books ever published on cats.

I was looking at Pam Johnson Beniitt website last night and she is also designing toys, l got a beautiful made wood box with holes on the top the size of a apple were you can put her treats and they have to learn how to find them and get them out. I comes in two sizes and with a ball but Daisy liked the treats in and kicked the ball under the sofa. There is a few different toys  but some are pricy but ok for birthday or christmas.

I love this book, too. It's like a "bible!  I agree with everything people have said, and plus, it has an index. Another cat book I have doesn't, and what a nuisance.  It's got advice about so much and a great section on PLAYING with your cat!  I'm not considering this a "review," but if you want a good basic overall cat book, get this one!

Hi, the price of the book was in UK money so it works out nearly double in yours. Yoiy ought to have done the review as your write up was great, am not great at doing this at all Was useless at it all school. I am a artist and am trying to paint cats just now. Have painted everything else,

I also LOVE this book.  I bought it a few months ago (paying $12 for it), and it has been well worth that.  $4.32 is a steal for this "go-to" guide.  I have 3 inside cats, 1 inside-outside (formerly a stray), and 2 fosters at the moment.  I foster bottle baby cats for our local rescue organization, and this book has been a lifesaver especially when I've run into a "new" problem with one of my babies.  I've used Ms. Johnson-Bennett's interactive toy suggestions which resulted in very happy grown cats as well.  She also has an extensive section on digestive problems and what to do.  This book is a gold mine of information.  I can't say enough good things about it!
