Pros - Treats
Cons - Prescription required
I got a new cat some time ago...when I got this kitten, she came to me full of fleas. I got her on revolution and her fleas were gone! Another situation was, i took one of my other cats to the vet. While at the vet, a flea jumped on my cats face. I tried to pick it off but it got away. 2 days later i found it dead near his face. So I knew this works with preventing and treating.
So far non of my cats have ever came out positive for parasites. So, It might work. Never used revolution to treat parasites so I cant say if it works. All I can input about the parasite(worms) is mine have not came out positive for having any type of worms. If a test is ever needed to rule out an issue. Parasites are never in the question.
A 6 pack box of revolution for 5.1 - 15lbs is normally about $100, but there are coupons that can bring that down.
Pros - works well
Cons - extremely pricey
I've used Revolution since 2006. I've tried other less pricey products but nothing works as well as Revolution. I recommend it to all the people who adopt our purrs. My only complaint is the price. It is considerably higher price than other similar products. And they do not give a special rate to rescues like some other companies do.
Pros - works,no reacyions
Cons - none
Good price and we have used this for a year now.We have several ragdoll cats and no one has had any reactions.Nor have we had any flea issues.I like that it helps with more than just fleas.I like the ability of this to help with worms also.
Pros - Prevents fleas, ticks, heart, round and hookworms! Cannot lick medicine.
Cons - Speedy flinches for a second when applied, but only a second.
I have had Speedy on Revolution (stronghold) for about three years and I believe it is this product that has kept her completely free of fleas, ticks, worms and ear mites this far. Mostly, it is the fleas and worms that I am most freaked about about her catching and this gives me peace of mind. We take walks in tall grass and she does not get fleas or ticks. Yeah Speedy! If you buy in quantity, there are often discounts that apply, in this case, from my vet's website, not the manufacturer. The first time you apply the medicine, you have to read the directions on how to open the tube, dispense, etc. so that you can do it without the little one running away. Once you know how to do it, it is easy. Speedy flinches just for one second from having the alcohol-based medicine touch the back of her neck, but there is no after discomfort . With any prescription medicine, there may be some reactions , but Speedy has never had any.
I am very happy with the peace of mind I have with Revolution for cats.
Pros - Kills fleaa
Cons - Seems to burn, but less than Advantage.
Frontline stopped working and Advatage never really did work longer than 2 weeks for my cat.
Plus Revolution kills roundworm and ear mites!!!
As for fleas my cat went from covered in flea poop to a clear coat in 2 weeks. I'm finding dead fleas, and vet declared him flea and mite free. Well well worth a vet visit once a year (allowing me to buy it), as well as the extra $5 a month. Will be looking into buying it online, too.
Revolution killed the stuff on him and Precor 2000 took care of my apartment.
Pros - covers fleas, ticks, ear mites and heart worms
Cons - smells of alcohol and the cats don't like the odor
Revolution(Stronghold) is the only cat flea treatment that I feel comfortable using. I have in the past used cheaper brands on flea-infested cats, and none of them worked. Revolution works every time, and the cats begin to show less itching within a day or two. It is well worth a vet trip to make sure that my boys have Revolution for flea prevention/flea treatment.
