General Information

The Catit Flower Fountain is based on the successful Catit Drinking Fountain and has a fresh, unique design that allows up to 3 different water flow settings to appeal to picky drinkers! When plugged in without accessories, the Flower Fountain provides a gently flowing water surface. Inserting the flower accessory creates long, faucet-like streams of water. The flower is easy to add to (or remove from) the fountain. Adding the flower cap will tone down the bubbling water on top, so give this setting a try if your cat would rather play with the water than drink from it. The Flower Fountain is easy to disassemble and clean and has an ergonomic design matching the Catit Multi Feeder (#43741). Combine the two for a complete dining experience! The Catit Flower Fountain is compatible with the Catit Senses 2.0 Water Softening Filters (#43744). .

Pros: Entices drinking.
Keeps water cold.
Filtered water.
Cons: Monthly filter change.
Weekly motor clean.
My cat was a habitual faucet drinker, she wouldn't drink from her water bowls, I had to keep turning on sink faucets for her. I tried different types of water fountains that kept water moving, but they were either too loud or didn't move the water enough. This water fountain is like several different water faucets turned on, which my cat loves. She drinks from different streams each time she visits the fountain, and because of that she drinks a lot more. I'm happy I have a hydrated cat!
Pros: Low maintenance, cats love it
Cons: took Connor and Murphy a couple of days to use it; they hate when it "fizzes"
Connor and Murphy are ridiculously picky.  They would only drink water if I had just washed the bowl and filled it.  Rinsing it didn't count.  If the water had been in the bowl for more than 10 minutes, they wanted nothing to do with it.  I had to wash their bowl a dozen times a day - literally - and I never felt like they were getting enough water.  So, I decided to try a fountain.  We actually got the fountain a couple of days before we found Mickey.  We set it up, but Connor and Murphy weren't using it.  They sniffed at it, but didn't drink from it.  Then, we brought Mickey home.  He started using it immediately.  Then Connor and Murphy started.  I don't know if they figured it out from watching him or what.  Anyway, ever since then, I feel like they're all getting plenty of water.  Instead of washing and refilling a bowl a dozen times a day, I add water to it every 2 days or so and wash it once a week.  Huge time saver.

When it gets low on water, the water coming out kind of "fizzes."  That's how I know I need to add water.  The cats won't drink from it when it fizzes.  If they decide it's taken me too long to notice that it's fizzing, they'll knock it over and take it apart.

I posted this review and I want to add something. The motor quit working and I was about to find a new fountain, then I found out that you can take the motor apart. I did and cleaned it and now its working just fine again. It's actually very easy to take the motor apart and clean it.
Our 2 girls had gotten accustomed to drinking from the kitchen faucet and would not drink from a water dish (like our 2 boys do). I researched fountains and found the Catit Flower fountain. However, the flower petals are not very far above the base. It did not offer a similar experience to drinking from the faucet. One reviewer on Amazon mentioned how he had modified the fountain to raise the petals higher above the base. I figured I could do that so I ordered it. Using a couple of pieces of PVC pipe I was able the raise the petals. Here is the fountain with the higher petals:

Both of our girls use the fountain and drink about 2 cups of water a day.

I buy generic replacement filters (boxes of 6) from Amazon. And, I also bought a spare motor from Amazon. In both cases, they are much cheaper than buying from Catit.

I clean it about once every 2 weeks.
Cant find replacement;) filters...
I get replacement filters on Amazon. They're not that expensive, either.
