Pros: Grain free, natural ingredients, company claims the food is nutritionally balanced
Cons: It's more expensive than other cat foods, sometimes by a large margin
I've tried several varieties of Blue Buffalo's canned and dry foods, starting when my cat, Buddy, was a baby. Although he'll turn his nose up at certain canned foods, he's not a very picky eater when it comes to dry food, and he's finished every bag of Blue Buffalo I've purchased. For the standard Indoor Dry Food formula, the top three ingredients are deboned chicken, chicken meal, and fish meal, and the recipe is rounded out with things like peas, carrots and cranberries.

This is a good dry food to feed if your cat isn't hooked on a particular flavor. Although Blue Buffalo makes dry food in specific flavors -- particularly in its Wilderness line of products -- a chicken-based formula like this probably won't offend most cats' sensibilities. The packaging and Blue's website make a big deal about "LifeSource Bits," but I can't say one way or another if they make a difference, and even visually it's difficult to discern which ones are supposed to be the special bits, and which are plain old kibble. For his part, Bud doesn't seem to notice, and doesn't discriminate when he's scarfing it down.

The only word of caution I'll add is that Blue may seem "plain" to a cat whose palate is used to certain brands like Friskies. Blue Buffalo is also expensive, although the price difference is much more noticeable with their canned food.

Pros: 4 of 7 cats like it.
Cons: semi-expensive; pellet size small causing most to swallow it whole
Most of my cats enjoy Blue Buffalo Indoor Dry Food. I also feed a little to the feral cats outside (why should they only eat flavored cornmeal?)

It does have way more protein (32%) than lots of other dry foods. Apparently, it smells better than their regular food also. The ferals wait for me to sprinkle a small cup of Blue on top of the regular food before they eat.

The Blue food has also helped one of my indoor cats' coat become softer & thicker since he's been eating it.

I get it at Pet Supplies Plus in Marble Falls, TX.

Pros: It's healthy for a dry food
Cons: It's still dry food
My cats seem to enjoy this food. They are eating it rapidly from the feeder. It's a bit expensive and has fish meal in it I usually feed only poultry. Bought it at Tractor Supply the Wellness was all expired.
