I do not own one of these but hubby and I were visiting his relatives a few weeks ago.  They have one on their large deck for their kitty and she really seems to love it.  For some reason their senior kitty suddenly decided to try sneak out of the house any time they tried to go anywhere.  This was part of their solution to give her safe outside time.  They also wound up training her to walk around their property on a leash.  I actually got to take her for a walk.  After they got the enclosure and started taking her for walks she stopped trying to get out of the house.  If she wants to go in her enclosure she meows at the door to the deck.  If she wants to go for a walk she sits at the front door and meows.  When she wants in she paws at the door to the enclosure or plops down on the driveway and then bolts up the stairs to go back in the house.

This is cat they adopted as a young adult stray after she kept showing up on their deck asking to come in.  They tried to look for her owner but no one ever came forward.
