I haven't been here in the longest time...my job and family health issues have been keeping me busy, but I stopped in today and figured I might as well answer a few questions while I'm here.
Hello, Rigel, and to anyone who remembers me. I've missed you guys!!
1.- Are you done for your Shoop...
Most nights, all three of mine sleep with us. Tailer's the first one there and he'll meow at us if we don't get there in time. Forest comes next. He can't jump up onto the bed by himself, so he taps the side of the bed until one of us gets up and picks him up. Gracie waits until we're asleep...
I go out to dinner with people from work regularly...but I'm not sure it counts because it's actually FOR work. I work for a nonprofit organization with a lot of volunteers from across the country. We have meetings in different places around the country, and taking the group out to dinner is...
For the first time in many years we're actually spending a vacation doing something with just DH and I. We're going to spend our vacation on the US east coast. I have a meeting in Philadelphia, so we'll start out there then travel to the Baltimore/Washington DC area and end up in Williamsburg, VA.
OMG...those pics are hilarious. I'm sitting here by myself laughing like a loon. Pic number 7 is my favorite. You look so pretty and sweet and he looks like he's contemplating murder.
I have a bunch of stuffed animals. I used to have a whole lot more, but when we moved into this house I edited my collection down to the ones that are really meaningful to me.
My oldest one is also my favorite. It's a multicolored crocheted turtle that my mother made me when I was about 7 years...
My Forest is a CH kitty, too. He's very strong, but not very coordinated . From time to time he'll wind himself up and take a great L E A P across the floor after something. He goes all-in and sprawls all out in every direction. It's so funny it cracks me up every time.
The numbers are back...and it's looking pretty good! Most of her liver valuse were within normal range, and two were still out of range but vastly improved. Her ALT is down from 383 to 177 (the normal range is under 100), and her Bilirubin is down from 6.6 to 0.9 (normal is 0.1-0.4). Her WBC is...
Poor Hobbes...I hadn't read your other threads and didn't realize the poor guy had so much going on. Sending loads of vibes for both of you.
My Harvey had asthma and we had him on inhaled meds for the last few years of his life. (He lived to just over 20 years old.) I think you'll find that...
Thanks, everyone. It's been a great birthday. The best part was that I got just what I wanted for my birthday...my new cat, Grace, who's been very sick the last month, got a clean bill of health at the vet's this morning!!!
AND I got my favorite chocolate cake!
We're just back from the vet, and it's all good news!
Grace's jaundice is all but gone. Her weight is up to 8 lbs, 13 oz...which we think seems around the optimal weight for her. She's definitely feeling perky enough to give them a good fight when they drew her blood today! (I know that...
Chris, good for you!!!
As someone who had trouble standing up for herself for YEARS, I know what a monumental step that is. However bad the outcome may seem at this point, in the end the fact that you've taken control for yourself WILL prove itself to be a very positive thing for both you and...
PetSmart carries a GNC brand hairball remedy that I like. It's not petroleum based...I think it's a vegetable oil base...and it has fiber added. It works great for Tailer, who's a little older and could use some extra fiber. The down side is that the cats don't seem to like it...not a big deal...
Sending vibes for you and Hobbes.
Tailer had an eye infection several years ago. If memory serves, it did look worse right after we started treatment, then it got better. It's good that your regular vet can look at it tomorrow, though.
I'm no expert, but near as I can tell from a little research, she's a torbie with white. She's got tortie colors with tabby stripes. I believe torties and torbies can have some white, but calicos are mostly white. Maybe someone here has better information, though.
