It was definitely not my hair. She'd go for my eyes as I was lying down in bed, reading, when my hair wasn't moving at all. Also, I keep my hair tied back all the time.
Fortunately she has stopped doing this now :)
I found out I was allergic to cats after I got my first kitten. My Sootball also insists on sleeping in bed with me at night, usually right next to my head on my pillow. I don't have the heart to kick her out of my bedroom, so I just put up with waking up with itchy eyes and a stuffy nose lol...
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say that I am SO sorry for what happened. I so hopeful as I read through the posts, thinking maybe you'd be able to keep Rosie. Your final post broke my heart. I am so angry with that awful owner, and I really hope the ASPCA pressed charges...
Omg my cat does this, too! I noticed her making that exaggerated sniffing noise when I unwrapped an ice cream bar, and since her head was close to my face, I decided on a whim to imitate her sniffing noise as I smelled her forehead. She seemed to become defensive and kind of angry! Her ears went...
I know it has been forever, but just in case someone else has the same problem I did and stumbles upon this thread, I thought I'd post an update.
My Sooty no longer attacks my eyes. I didn't really try anything new or different; I pretty much kept doing the same things I've described in my...
Like some of the others have said, my cat used to never shed (or even need any brushing) when she was a small kitten. But after she turned 7 months old, she started shedding everywhere! She also has silky, fine fur like your cat, and that was part of why it took me a while to notice all the cat...
Is he very food motivated? My Sootball hates having her nails clipped, but she is a complete pig and will do anything for food. So I feed her a bit of tuna in a bowl, and she happily sticks her head in and eats while I grab a paw and clip her nails. She is too busy eating to turn her head and...
No, other than the actual nipple, the area around it looks normal, just like any other part of Sooty's stomach.
Lol yeah. I was pretty sure I was just being a helicopter cat-mom, but I wanted to get other people's opinions. Thank you!
Ok, I am going to ask a dumb (possibly) and ridiculous (definitely) question.
Are my cat's nipples abnormal? My little Sootball is my first cat, so I have no idea what cat nipples are supposed to look like. But Sootball's nipples seem inordinately large and long to me, almost swollen...
My Sootball likes to go to sleep by herself. but sometime in the night, she always ends up jumping onto my bed and sleeping at my feet or on my pillow, lol. I love it when she falls asleep right next to my head or on my arm - she's so soft and warm!
My little Sootball does the same thing! Never meows unless she's begging for food, then it's that super long "meoooooooooowwwwww-oooooowwww" sound. She's usually a very quiet cat, but will occasionally squeak or trill.
It sounds like things are working out well now between you and Charlie, but if Charlie gets stressed and angry again, maybe you could try Feliway? I've never used it myself, but a friend who's had cats all her life said that it does a good job of calming cats down and making them more mellow. It...
I agree with ShadowsRescue, and think you should do everything you can to distract your kitten from your eyelashes. Your kitten might start doing what my kitten did - I think she also liked my eyelids and eyelashes moving when I blinked, because she'd try to pounce on and bat at my eyes. She has...
I also have a smooth-tongued kitty! My little Football is a 6 month old black Maine coon, and she's had a very smooth tongue ever since she was a baby. She seems to have no trouble eating or drinking, as they are her favourite activities, although when I give her wet food, I have to mix it with...
Argh, I don't know how to edit my posts on this site, lol.
Yes, you're right, I got her as a very tiny kitten (vet estimated she was less than 6 weeks old), so I've had to spend a lot of time teaching her "how to cat." This eye swiping thing seems to be the last major hurdle.
Thanks for your...
