The vet had a fit after I said no to further vaccinations so I am currently looking for another vet.
I think I'm giving too much so probably i just need to 7-10 inhalations for salbutamol.
I am using both salbutamol 100 mcg (blue inhaler) and flovent 125 mcg (orange inhaler) for my cat's asthma.
Sometimes after I give him salbutamol, he gets an asthma attack.
I want to know exactly how many puffs of each or how many inhalations should I be giving him?
Thanks!
hmmm.. i put him on urinary SO and he's gobbling it up. his weight went up by 1 lb in 2 days. however he is a bit lethargic. my guess is that its shooting up his blood sugar. I have not checked it.
so basically he was hating the food which is why his weight was going down.
not sure what else I...
so it seems the ultrasound is actually $550 and there may be other things like biopsy etc. which will bring all this closer to $1000.
I don't have this type of money right now. I spoke to the vet and she said just try to get him to eat as much as possible. so I am putting him back on 2mg...
thank you. but is there any correlation b/w enlarged spleen and him not eating?
I see ther that enlarged spleen can be caused by him not eating but not the other way round. Such a wierd situation.
from being at 14 lbs at one time and after diabetes/pancreatitis/liver scare he was down to 12 lbs. but now no more diabetes or any related issues. the asthma issue is the only one remaining. diet is purina DM dry and fancy feast. he eats little of both and is down to 10 lbs.
He is otherwise...
I am changing the food to vet prescribed purina DM.
I am also going to feed him some purina DM dry food as he's not eating wet at all so at least he'll get something inside him that way.
Thanks. I was wrong its not mg/dl but actually mmol
Conversion Table for Blood Glucose Monitoring | Joslin Diabetes Center
so around 375 mg/dl
I have ordered a couple of feeding syringes from amazon since he's not eating at all.
he had not eaten in 3 days so i took him to vet today. his blood gluc was 21 mg/dl. Force fed him food and water then gave him insulin.
I have now completely removed the SO food.
I will keep him on the blue healthy gourmet chicken/turkey pate canned food.
I may have to force feed him again if...
Just a quick comparison.
This link

It says blue healthy gourmet turkey/chicken has 34% protein but the can says 10% crude protein.
Yes I was actually mostly using flovent as I knew the affects of pred. I gave him pred only when asthma attacks got bad. Which I didn't know why even though I was giving him flovent almost regularly. I would miss sometimes but mostly at least once a day.
Thanks. I have him on Blue chicken+turkey pate canned food other than the SO.
He has not eaten in the last 20 or so hours and he is losing weight. The spine is becoming visible. I am guessing this is due to diabetes. He has not been started on any diabetes meds or insulin yet.
