The cream refers to the "light red" parts, not the pale body color. :-) Cream in cats is the Dilute of red/orange tabby.
She is a Blue-Cream(dilute) Tortoiseshell, Lynx(tabby) Point.
So on vet records, I would put:
Dilute Tortoiseshell Lynx Point, Domestic Shorthair.
My guess is just a DSH with a fever coat as a baby.
Now, his fur grew out, he has shed off all the odd-colored fur, and is showing his generically true color, which has always been black.
The only way for a fever coat to stay would be for the "fever" to have cause permanent damage to the...
Because Agouti is actually the gene that causes banding on each hair shaft. If you look at her hairs you will see stripes of color on each individual hair, and you would see this even on a tabby with a stiping pattern. In many animals agouti looks like your kitty, just ticked (think cottontail...
LOL yes, that's Loki, and he is a dork. My favorite is the one of him reaching his paws around from behind. So silly! Although, with all that, they still didn't knock it over. It's pretty sturdy. :-)
They estimated age based on her teeth I would imagine.
Sometimes, if they have been in a bad situation for long enough, their teeth can appear "older" than they are...
However, what it sounds like to me is that she was underweight and the weight gain is because of that, and also was probably...
One way to tell if a cat is black, but with a lot of rust, making it look brown...or actually chocolate....is to look at the nose leather. In a genetically chocolate cat, it will also be chocolate, not gray or black.
She could be, but without papers she would still be called a Domestic Medium Hair. That just means she is a medium haired cat of no specific breed. What she has in her ancestry is a mystery, but if it's there, it is probably not recent. So, not a parent or grandparent Maine Coon.
If it's just solid black then she is a Black and white Domestic Shorhair. It can also be called Black Bicolor which means "and white"
Most 2 month old kittens are full of energy! They are usually very silly, very fast, and love to play. :-)
Oh yes, she is most definitely a Torbie (brown and orange tabby). :-)
So she is a Mackeral Torbie, Domestic Medium Hair.
Very pretty girl. And so glad you were able to rescue her!
The first kitty is a Broken Mackerel Brown Tabby(color and pattern), Domestic Shorthair (breed).
The second one is a Domestic Medium Hair, and looks like she is a Torbie (brown tabby and orange tabby) but it is hard to tell since the picture is so dark. Do you have a brighter one of her? Maybe...
Is the only color on its head? Or does it have color on its tail too?
It is hard to tell if that spot on its head is brown tabby or solid black from the picture, but if it also has color on its tail, it would be considered a Van Pattern (black or brown tabby) Domestic Shorthair. Do you have any...
Domestic Shorthair cats are really what we would call a Mutt in the dog world. They are just random bred, no affiliated breed. In cats, the breeds came from these random bred cats... mutations and various traits show up in stray populations even. Some of these appealed to certain people, were...
I'm not sure why you keep coming back to this post to argue? And obviously she is not a pure white persian, so the sarcasm is not necessary.
Can you really not see the black tabby markings on her face and chest? Just because her side is lighter, doesn't mean anything. I've seen brown tabbies...
