Hi Cindy!
We just finished our second round of antibiotics and fingers crossed🤞 I think it may have taken care of the URI. His left eye is funny because it has a white film around the edge, but also is the one that you can see his pupil on better when the light hits it.
I'm getting more...
Thanks for that. It helps.
My friends tell me he looks evil and creepy. He is the sweetest animal, just wants love and attention at all times. I don't know why I have such a hard time with his eyes. I have this need to fix what's wrong with pets immediately and this isn't like that. Its not like...
I generally use eco friendly soaps in my cleaning, and usually just my favouite combo of water, dish soap and vinegar for most things. We had a bird a long time ago and I ended up tossing everything that was scented. As a result I've gotten really sensitive to the high scents and chemical smells...
I know I've mentioned my concerns about Coals eyes a few times recently. Just looking for perspective here.
His eyes are brown/almost black, and the vet says it's probably scaring from having a chronic URI/herpes as a kitten. His eyes do not effect him in any way (no pain, no oozing, no sight...
Was actually going to continue a few rounds of plain water in my carpet cleaner and maybe a round of vinegar water before that (or just spray some on and rinse it off with the carpet cleaner). Part of my problem is apparently I hate the smell of the carpet soap, so I thought maybe getting more...
Thanks guys! Unfortunately I live in an apartment and I don't have tools, and my in laws just got rid of theirs with their downsizing.
Such great advice! Wish I could follow through.
For now I've thrown out the base of the cup where he peed and am going to try to do more carpet cleaning on it...
Glad she's still eating a bit. Sounds like she probably had a uti, but maybe it wasn't the only thing wrong?
Hope the vet gets back to you soon. They sound really frustrating
I can post pictures, however your post got me thinking about a few things.
Given the way the tree is built I think it's almost impossible to dismantle. That combined with the cost of lumber right now ($100/ sheet for plywood?!?) Really makes building my own or dismantling and partly building it...
This question is more about building and less about cats.
Coal peed in my 16 year old cat tree. Admittedly, I've never properly cleaned it before aside from spot cleaning. He's only done it once and was probably making a comment about something (recent vet visit? 3 other cats worth of smell? A...
Utis can really mess with your whole self! Some people even become delirious with them.
I hope the vet was right too, or at least that she feels comfort from the meds.
Let us know when you talk to the vet. Hopefully she's in a condition to treat her. I know personally how hard end of life is, especially when you've had the cat your whole life. My thoughts are with you, none of this is easy.
You'd think someone would be making them, especially with the covid push for pets. I could try to re cover mine...but it looks like it will be a lot of work
Still get her in to see the vet tomorrow, or at least talk to them about it. If she seems uncomfortable again take her to emerge.
Glad she pooped some more :) make sure wet food and water are easily accessible for her near the bed.
About 16 years ago I bought a cat tree from a couple at a cat show. They spoke about all the things they do to make it strong and durable. Indeed, 16 years later and a kid who believes herself a monkey and it is still standing. It's super old and the shelves on it are getting loose from the kid...
Getting some out is a good thing! I don't blame her for hiding, pushing out really bad blockages really hurts. The diarrhea is a sign of a blockage unfortunately, but maybe that is moving out. There is probably a lot more in there if the second poo isn't hers. The gooey hairball meds help with...
