Black Tabby? Black Smoke Tabby Maybe?

We would never bother with a test, he could be anything and we really don't give a hoot. His mum is generational feral normal tabby, ferocious around hoomans trapped by a rescue breaking up a colony at a rubbish tip. She gave birth to a variety of kittens black/white, black, tabby and Jasper. He...

Black Tabby? Black Smoke Tabby Maybe?

Black tabby is a thing, I refer to it as licorice tabby and this is our boy Jasper, he is a rescue mog with a handsome coat.

Anyone else have a cat that gets Hangry?

Woah! No way Jose! You so not get fed if you are shouting. You do not get cranky and then get fed. Remove empty food bowls, lock cat out of social areas if getting cranky. Feed at the same times every day. Talk sweetly but do not put food down if shouting starts, just walk away. Keep talking...

    Matts in fur

My longhair loves a groom but walks off in a snoot after about 3 mins. Have stopped that by grooming on top of the washing machine. I can go for as long as I want. He is super cool about it and only grouches about the illegal bis, tail and cataloons, he doesn't stop me though. It is the solution!

How tight should a harness be?

I am watching this. Sparticus escapes easily from his harness by running backwards. While this is mostly preventable it isn't if he panics. I have it tighter than his collar, so I can just slip a small finger under it. Perhaps it should be tighter do tell oh wise ones.

    Newly Adopted Kitten; Questions

Just keep doing exactly what you are doing. You mentioned that she is timid so she will need to think about things, deeply, before she does them. As her trust in YOU is confirmed by your patience, consistency and love then her confidence will grow. But thinking is a time consuming process for a cat.

    Newly Adopted Kitten; Questions

She'll eat and drink when she is ready. New home, major operation, untrained humans = stress. Cats are naturally neurotic about any change to their routine being critters of impeccable habit. Now it is of major importance, and I can not stress enough how important this is.... Post a picture PLEASE.

Found a stray pregnant beauty, advice welcome!

I wouldn't worry about the kittens, they will get all that they need from Mum. Mum however will be hungry so some good hearty wet food and water available all the time while she is nursing. She will also need a lot of sleep after her big event.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this

Gosh wouldn't life be easy if there was only one diet to live by. My cat gets raw meat, steamed fish a few dry bits, chicken necks and apparently frozen peas (actually frozen) are on the menu. He is healthy happy glossy and has me totally wrapped around his paws. Not bad for a flea ridden lost...

Rainbow Cat Collars Save Native Birds (and frogs)

When I lived in Melbourne I honestly did not care how many sparrows he caught. They are invaders and are horrible. I have only seen native birds here and so many of them. I keep him in at night anyway and he wears a bell, but I know what a good hunter he is so any advantage I can give the...

Moving, need advice on whether to take my cat with me?

It doesn't take long to resettle a cat. Mine stays under the bed for 2 days. I force him to stay in for 2 weeks. During this time he plays every trick he knows to get outside, crying, staring longingly outside windows. Stomping (yes he stomps) and trying to dash btwn my legs. I let him out for...
