    Post-surgery question

Hello, it's been years since I've been on this site and in that time my babies have generally enjoyed good health. But since we moved to FL a year ago, it's been one thing after another with my orange tabby, Gator. Gator had surgery on Thursday to remove a tumor on his back the vet said was...

    Vaccines by mail?

My husband is deployed in Iraq. His team sort of inherited a couple of cats the previous unit had taken care of. One of the cats had kittens a month ago and my husband would like to have them vaccinated-and, incidentally, the mom spayed. Unfortunately the Army vet there says it's not in her job...

Help from members in Germany please

I recently (in April) moved to Germany. I live in Baden-Wurttemburg near Herrenberg. I was wondering if there are professional pet sitters here in Germany and how I would go about locating one. I have two cats. Thank you, Erin

    We made it to Florida

My Dad and I completed the drive from CO to FL. Seamus, Gator, and Maxie are all fine and were such champs on the drive. Gator, who usually hates the car, was especially good. He only cried on the stop and go portions, once on the highway, he was fine. The cats were certainly glad to get to my...

    The movers start packing Friday!

Hooray! I'm in the home stretch. Packing days are Friday and Monday. Then they pick up Tuesday. The only bad part is that my husband is gone already so I'll have to keep track of the kitties, dog, and make sure everything is packed correctly. Hopefully one of my friends will be able to help. I...

Anyone use Dry Fur Kennel Pads?

We're moving to Germany in a couple of months, and I happened across these www.dryfur.com and was wondering if anyone here had used them and how they worked for you. Thanks, Erin

I shut Seamus' paw in the car door!

I was getting groceries out of the car and Seamus had followed me into the garage. He was on the car and I guess he reached his paw out and it got caught when I shut the door. My vet said to make an appt. and watch him to see how he does over a couple of hours and I may not need to bring him...

    italian kitties

As some of you may know, I went to Italy last month. I took pictures of the different cats I came across. Not that many as it turned out. I kind of expected to see more, like in Greece. Still, they're pretty cute...Erin

Hooray! We're moving back to Germany!

I'm so excited. We've been wanting to move back ever since we left. The only bad thing is that we've got to be there in early January, leaving us precious little time to sell our house. So everyone please wish us well in that department! Erin

Back from Italy--Thanks for the birthday greetings

It was nice to come home and find best wishes in my mail box. Thank you. Italy was lovely and the weather perfect. I took pictures of some of the kitties we came across and my relatives no doubt thought I was a little nuts. That and I brought a little frame with a picture of Seamus, and don't...

Has anyone used the Rosetta Stone Programs?

I'm interested in learning a language (French) and I've been giving some thought to buying one of the Rosetta Stone programs. I was just wondering if anyone has used them and what you thought of it. Thanks, Erin

Does your dog hoard his goodies?

If I give Maxie a treat, she doesn't usually eat them right away. She likes to stash things away for a rainy day. My backyard is pockmarked with little holes that she's put cookies in or whatever. I found a halfeaten pigs ear in my husband's shoe. The laundry hamper is another favorite hiding...

    Open mouthed breathing?

Seamus doesn't seem congested, but lately he's been holding his mouth open. Which is strange for him since he never just walks around or sits there with his mouth hanging open. Does it aid in his smelling? I'm not really worried or anything, I just thought it was weird.

Anyone else's cat in charge of the dog?

Seamus is the number one pet in our house. He rules over the other cat and the dog. Maxine, a shiba inu, is so submissive to Seamus, she'll greet him first, play-bow to him, and willingly approach him to allow him to groom her. Is anyone else's dog so obviously submissive to their cat?

    Wax on his fur?

Seamus just stuck his paw in hot wax. He's okay, but has wax all over him. Any thoughts on how to get it off? Erin

    My little Gator-licious

I know it's almost March. But I'm not exactly speedy when it comes to downloading pictures from my camera.

    Check out this pose

Seamus was lounging on top of the kitchen cabinets. He's clearly surveying his domain below. He really doesn't look terribly comfortable

Do you tip your dog groomer?

And if so, how much? We're bringing Maxie in for her first professional grooming and I have no idea if you're supposed to tip them or not. She's such a drama queen, I just know that the groomer's going to have her hands full. Thanks, Erin
