    Phantom Pregnancy question

I noticed this morning, Miney was walking around the garden with her tail to the side  (I have a garden cat fence which keeps them in the garden and other cats out, non electric its the design of it that makes it efficient)  And since she was in the garden, this am, there has been a queue of...

    Phantom Pregnancy question

Another two to list (tho my cat prefers the Arden grange) is Acana and "Hills Ideal balance" Both are grain free (and both suited Miney's stomach)  the Acana however is also GMO free.  FYI. Agree entirely about the vets. I have an excellent vet, the pet food industry reminds me a little of the...

    Phantom Pregnancy question

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for the delayed response. Well Miney is neither phantom pregnancy or real pregnancy lol she is pudgy.  It has become apparent she has food intolerance. And the outcome of that will either be losing weight or gaining weight. So many cats (and dogs come to that)...

And I did.She appeared healthy except  she possibly has the feline herpes virus.   I have suspected the last week she was having a phantom pregnancy.  Last nite she went into typical behavour of wanting to hide and be secluded  (she got...

    Kitten's Temptation

Thought I would share this photo of my two beauties.  Meanie the Calico in the lower bunk (I have to put her name back on the bunk beds) is in the lower bunk. Meanie is around 7 and she and me have been sole companions the last 5 years.  My neighbor told me about what is now Miney, a little...

Advice for Integrating Two New Cats - What level of anxiety/aggression normal?

This is a bit different to my own situation but I brought a young cat into a home with my cat who has been used to only me 24/7.   And the little one was  used to living on the streets.   But I wonder if some of the same principles may not apply. That it may help to assist the older cat to gain...

Picture of the Month - Strange& Funny Facial Expressions

My cat Meanie  Who is Meanie by name but definitely not by nature.  A giant of a cat, a calico, yet  she has a soul that is so gentle so quiet so kind that it moves me to tears at times. She has so many health issues, I have nearly lost her more than once, but her neck is furless in this photo...

Change in behavior because of cruelty

It's available in USA and Canada too. It will remove stress from cats and promote a feeling of safety for them by artificial feline hormones.  I have used it for my cats, without it the one would now probably be taking seizure meds.   But the vet advised me to keep it here permanently too...

Comment by 'deejay0' in article 'How Long Can You Leave Your Cat Alone For?'

Nothing wrong in letting cats out if its not downright dangerous to do.  In fact some cat charities argue that is cruel not to.  However,  I have a cat fence on my garden which keeps my cats contained in the garden and other cats out. My cat has health problems that it wouldn't be safe to let...

Change in behavior because of cruelty

I'm so sorry.  This is perhaps a bit obvious and you may already have it covered but the first thing that came to my mind was a Feliway diffuser to plug in where he is sleeping especially to promote a feeling of safety.  Only after your guests have gone of course though as when he gets that...

    Advice needed/feline herpes, ear goop

Hi,  I have a cat with chronic ongoing bilateral ear infections. It was so bad at one time, that my vet was considering radical surgery to remove her ear drums (it would have left her stone deaf) but she was utterly miserable. We were up the vet every week for about 2 years solid. She is plagued...
