    Now Mandy's turn

Well, I've had 18 cats, and I do not recall any of them developing this in old age, either. On the other hand, constipation and dehydration can be normal for aging humans. So why not for our pets? I agree with not doing the blood work at this time. None of the expected things are showing...

    Now Mandy's turn

We are just now back home! To answer your questions, all was normal through Dec 15 / 16. Yes she was eating kibble, and scarfing down 3 Temptations treats each morning. Until Dec 16th, when she wasn't. The vet found nothing major on exam. Body temp is low, 99 when normal is 101.5...

    Now Mandy's turn

This is Mandy. She is 16 years, been with me since 4 months old. Mandy has few if any teeth. She has all 4 fangs (the canine teeth). Since Dec 15, she has stopped grooming herself. I have brushed her 3 times, I get loads of fur on the brush. Most of the tufts are out, now. Mandy is...

    Tuppence has a lump

Not that I am aware of. But: the problem is GETTING her. Once I have her, she is fine. So the same issue would exist. And in the exam room she is confined, should she decide to take off. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Tuppence has a lump

I saw her about an hour ago. As soon as I move to enter the bedroom where she is, she jumps down and goes under the bed. I still haven't been able to see the incision. Ah well, that's cats for ya. She is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping. No idea if she is bothering the sutures. Bit...

    Tuppence has a lump

Tuppence had her surgery today; brought her back home about 4:30 PM. I opened the door to her carrier, she scurried into the bedroom under the bed. I've not seen her since. I've not seen her incision, but I was told it is almost 3 inches long. They will send the lump to the lab. The vet is...

    Tuppence has a lump

Tuppence at the vet this morning to recheck her lump. Took me 40 minutes to get her in the crate. She has not forgiven me for doing that 3 weeks back. In all this time, I have not been allowed near her. She immediately goes under the bed, when I enter the room where she is. Tuppy meowed...

    Tuppence has a lump

Tuppence is age 17 years, indoor only, spayed female. Came to me at age 4 months. I discovered a lump on her right haunch, had her in to the vet today. He doesn't think it is related to her 3 year rabies vaccine from February as it has been too long AND it is much lower than where he...

Bobby crossed to Rainbow Bridge; just 6 days after Crystal.

    Crystal crossed Rainbow Bridge

On Wednesday afternoon Oct 18 2023, my 19 year old Crystal crossed to Rainbow Bridge. She had a tumor under her tongue which grew to the point she could no longer eat or drink. Crystal came to me at age 4 months. She had ringworm on her head, the treatment involved bathing with a...

What food should I try, please?

Today Crystal had her final vet visit. She was 19 years old. Crystal had a tumor under her tongue, this is why her blood work came in as normal back in March; those tumors do not show up in lab reports. She lost 1.5 pounds since that March visit. She was not longer able to eat or drink. An...

Well THANK YOU very much for that! They have already had long lives. Of course indoor only cats do live longer.
