Thank you, all, for your comments. I think her teeth are all right, he looked at those when we were there on Monday. No discharge at all from her nose either, but the runny eye is still runny. What's coming out of her eye is different now, it's clear fluid not brown stuff. It's the last day of...
I went to the vet on Monday with Pudding, one of my new cats. I collected them from the rescue centre on 15th November, and she had a bit of a runny eye. It seemed to clear up, then came back, went again, and came back, so that was why we went to see the vet.
I have drops to put in her eye...
I just wanted to tell you a little story, in the hope that you gain some comfort from it.
A friend of mine once received a message from a relative. This person had died some time before. The message was 'XXX all the animals are here'
I loved this story and have found it a great comfort during...
I've just put up a post in the Crossing the Bridge section about the loss of our lovely Daisy. I can't bear being without a cat and the day after we had Daisy pts I visited the rehoming centre and was chosen by two gorgeous cats.
I would like to introduce Pudding :)
Pudding made her choice...
I acquired Daisy from Cats Protection in January 1999, she was six months old at the time. She came with another cat who we had to have pts in March 2011. Daisy was always a very stressed cat, never robustly healthy and had to have her life managed very carefully as she had been very ill through...
It's in her stomach, they are fairly sure it is quite advanced. With the benefit of hindsight I can see she had not been feeling 100% for some time.
She is an elderly cat who gets stressed at the slightest change in routine so am trying to keep the vet visits down to a minimum so that she can...
I got this news about ten days ago and since then she has been on steroids to stimulate her appetite.
They have worked so well that now I feel I have a bottomless pit to feed! Not that I mind, they are clearly making her FEEL much better and I am grateful to have my cat back, for however long...
Oh dear, your post has made me well up.
My dear little Daisy is going through much the same, only we only got told yesterday that cancer is the most likely cause of her problems. She's doing a lot of hiding away, she doesn't look comfy at all and is thin and dehydrated, all this despite the...
I'm happy to have found this thread, my Daisy is showing signs of kidney problems, we are going to the vet about it tomorrow as I have someone to drive me then (I have a hand injury and can't use the car) and it's just been so reassuring to read about the cats who have had some years of happy...
It doesn't bother me at all, it's just part of her peculiar personality!
She yowls when she's playing, although those yowls are different to the other ones. She always yowls when she's finished eating. We have often said she must be talking to her invisible friend . I don't think she does it...
I've got a yowler (who also dribbles a lot). And mine was spayed at 6 months old. She is 14 now so I expect her to go on yowling (and dribbling) until her last days.
I don't think it's anything to worry about, just a bit weird!
When I moved to my current house, it was a four hour drive and my cat was fine to wait for her litter tray until we got here. Unfortunately despite sedation she still howled for the whole four hours!
As far as which crate to use, I'd go for the bigger one initially - sorry, re-reading I mean...
My lovely girl Milly died last Wednesday. She was at least 15 years old and up to Tuesday was as happy and bright as a youngster. Sometime on Tuesday she had a stroke - I've lost a cat to that before so knew the signs weren't good - and the vet came out to see her. He said if she were younger...
