Update on Sandee! Long time in coming after many tests and doctors. She is fine. Thankfully, there wasn't any type of foreign object found in her anywhere. Sandee's at home and doing great! I appreciate everyone's responses and help!
Thank you for your reply! I'm very concerned of the damage if she did ingest some of the pad. I will definitely take one of the pads with me well later today to the vet appt. Trying to find a new vet in town since mine retired. The one I spoke with Sunday said to watch her very carefully...
Hi Margret-Thank you so much for your reply! Trying to find a new vet in town since mine retired. The one I spoke with said to watch her very carefully because she could have just played with it and tore it up. Unbelievable fees to meet me in the office. No other responses and the fees at ER...
Thanks KittyMommy for your response. Those were my thoughts exactly! Trying to find a new vet in town since mine retired. The one I spoke with said to watch her very carefully because she could have just played with it and tore it up. Unbelievable fees to meet me in the office. No other...
Update on Sandee. She has had a couple small bowel movements and is eating and drinking. I'm taking her in to the vet first thing in the morning. However, overnight I am isolating her with food and water and the litter box to take samples to the vet. Thank you for your feedback. So far my...
HELP!!! One of the kittens shown in my profile picture is Sandee. She is a very curious and mischievous little bundle of energy. Instead of her toys or her sister, Sapphire, or my older cats she prefers to sneak into the cabinets and bring presents upstairs to play with. 2 days ago we found...
You and your sister did everything that you could do for those babies. The most important was that you gave them love and food. They were so happy because of the love you gave them. Even though their lives were short like my 3 boys with FIP...they knew you all loved them very much!
Oh no that's so horrible. Just know you have done everything you can do with what you have access to. They know you love them and if the little one passes. They had a better short life loved then a longer life not fed and loved.
I wish I could say that my girls are all okay. However, 2 of the girls are showing the neurological signs of FIP and one has a bloated abdomen with the neurological twitching and paralysis. I'm sick and scared that I will be at the vet this weekend.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I wàs able to be with both of my babies when they left this world. It was so hard but I held them in their favorite blankets until they were gone. Then just stayed with them until I couldn't handle seeing them lifeless. I still miss Trevor's cry when I go in their...
I'm so sorry for your losses! I have lost 2 kittens from 2 different litters to FIP in the last month. It is the most horrific virus I have ever seen. I d
dn't even know such a thing existed until 3 months ago. My babies that I thought I rescued from a life of disease and starvation in the...
Thank you for your response! So she was isolated when the FIP turned to the wet form. What causes FIP to turn from dry to wet? Because I have the grandmother to these kittens and she is very thin, but blood work was normal and negative on her combo test. She eats and is quite active. I'm...
That's an awesome question! At the point I'm at with FIP and my very recent losses in 2 separate rescued litters...I am beginning to question what normal is. I check their abdominal area multiple times per day to see if the kidneys are enlarged or the area is larger than before.
I'm looking...
Please try and not worry so much. Hard to say because of what I'm going through with my rescues.
I have seen FIP wet strain first hand within the last 30 days in my rescued babies. Never the dry version.
I haven't ever seen any eye infections. What I have seen is once the neurological...
No, because I've never heard of necropsy. Yes, they did blood work, x-rays and ultrasound on the first one. After I lost Trevor, I knew what it was with Toby and watched it worsen each day for a week. Once, the catheter was in Toby's arm you could see how much his kidneys were swollen up...
Wow, reading these stories brings my worst fears to light and a horrible hole in my heart for 6 abandoned feral babies I've brought into my home and bottle fed for 6 weeks and loved and cared for for 2-3 additional months...loving them, feeding them the best food possible to make their immune...
