So I took in 2 rescue kittens. In the past when I had young rescue kittens they looked differnt enough to easily tell appart. The issue with these two is they are both orange tabbies and look ALOT a like. One is bigger than the other, but the little guy is catching up now that they are with me...
So a couple weeks ago I had Levi's blood work repleted. I was expecting good results as all of his symptoms are gone. He is eating well, putting on weight and no longer pooping on the floor. Well I was wrong about the blood work. His Pancreatic enzyme level was higher than it had been before...
So this morning I feel like he has gotten at least some of his sight back. I did what my vet told me to do and threw a small soft object across his light of sight and he did track the item so I hope that means his sight is returning. He is still caged and anxious to get out. I think he just...
So I did bring him home last night and he ate without a problem. My friend met me at the vet and said she could tell he recognized me by the way he was rubbing on me. I did take him to my vets today which turned out to be a good thing because all of the stress caused an upper respiratory...
I should add that he is at a 24 hour care facility. That is why it is going to be so expensive. My regular vet wouldn't charge me anywhere near that. I have to work tomorrow. I don't know if it would be better to leave him home, or take him to my regular vet for the day? I am going to ask about...
The cage I'm going to set him up in is on top of a dresser in my bedroom. The dog is in there at night while I sleep, but I could cover the cage with a blanket if that would help. The dresser is a tall dresser and there is no way she could get at him. I tried to make the dog sleep in her crate...
Yesterday my foster dog got made at my cat Abner. The dog must have shook the cat and caused a brain injury. He's been at the hospital for just over 24 hours and I will have to decide after work if I want to take him home or leave him another night to the tune of $200. His big issue right now is...
Just wanted to give everyone an update on my Levi. I'm not sure what triggered his pancreatitis, or what has improved the issue but he seems to be on the mend. I weighed him last night and he is back up to 13 pounds. he has been eating better, so clearly he is feeling better.
Levi lost over 2 pounds in 6 months. All of his normal blood work was fine except for one thing and now I cant remember what that was but it led to the pancreatic enzyme test. The normal high is 3.5 his level was somewhere between 4 - 4.5 (again I cant remember exactly where it was. I am...
I will have to look into more information on pancreatitis but I suspect that because Levi's only symptom is weight loss from not eating as much is why my vet isn't too concerned. I weighed him last night and he was back up to 12 pounds which is good. He was 11.8 at home last week. It isn't much...
So I got the call on Saturday. Levi officially has pancreatitis. His levels weren't too high, but were elevated. So the vet feels he has chronic pancreatitis. As of right now, I am giving him Pepcid AC every day. She wants to rerun blood work in a month. Anyone with experience with this please...
She did not mention cancer, but I asked and she said if the pancreatic enzymes are high we will treat for pancreatitis and if he doesn't get better then she would suggest and ultra sound. She tries not to worry people needlessly by mentioning cancer, but I know just enough to make myself scared...
