    Sounds like things are progressing well despite unfortunately waking up your roommate. If your other cats are ignoring his hissing it means that they have accepted him in catland and are ignoring him.. Giving the new CAT space. His hissing is very normal & expected ...setting boundaries warning...

    Tabitha my clingy little tiger kitty

    How adorable! She was very young and misses mom & siblings so you become her family. I have a needy striped kitty & wouldn't want her any other way. She is 5 years old now and still very affectionate and loves to curl up on my neck. What a blessing :)
