    Cat introductions

I haven't posted here in a while. I've just been lurking. A lot has happened and I now only have one cat, Soren, my bobcat hybrid. One of my three cats was rehomed by choice and went to an excellent home more suited for her and my other cat was lost while in the care of someone else. So, now...

Making an indoor only cat no longer only indoor

I do have toys plus two cat trees and one little scratching post with a toy attached. I'm constantly getting new things because I have ferrets as well. I have tried several different locks and things to keep him out but he's figured them all out... I'm going to try some inside child locks, but...

Making an indoor only cat no longer only indoor

Okay- I read through every post, since I couldn't really before due to being on a phone. Now I'll try to clarify.. --- Soren has a lot of pent up energy. He's a fairly normal cat as long as I'm nearby. Whenever we leave for work (and sometimes at night, but not very often at night since he...

Making an indoor only cat no longer only indoor

My outdoor cats are a 7 year old and a 9 year old and still young. I'm not asking about dangers. Some are a bit ridiculous, and aren't even relevant for where I live. Sorry, but my question wasn't answered at all.

Making an indoor only cat no longer only indoor

There are little to no dangers outside where I live. The road I live on is not busy and I live 5 acres away from the road.

Making an indoor only cat no longer only indoor

I'd like for Soren to become an indoor/outdoor cat, but I'm not sure how to do that. He's been indoor-only since he was 8 weeks old. When I got him at 8 weeks old, it took a lot to keep him from running out the door every time its opened.. He is now 8 months old, and is terrified and runs back...

Hybrid Cats - lots of reasons to rethink

I haven't had the money to get him neutered, and there hasn't been any free neuters that I could get accepted for. He's an indoor only cat. There won't be any unwanted pregnancy.

Hybrid Cats - lots of reasons to rethink

Soren has a cat page if you'd like to view it. It has many pictures of him, though none are pictures of him now. He now has puffy cheek fur like a bobcat. I just haven't had time lately to take more photos.. There are many breeders who actually breed their own bobcat to domestics. The breeder...

Hybrid Cats - lots of reasons to rethink

Soren is an F2 Bobcat Hybrid. I have none of those issues except spraying.. though he's not fixed, so I'm not sure if the spraying would stop after he gets neutered. I'm also not sure about the diet... Since I feed Soren raw and whole prey by choice.

    Animal Planet "Cat People"

I hate how Animal Planet is so horrible now... My parents got it back (they got rid of it 10 years ago.. I was so disappointed because it was all I ever watched as a kid) and I have yet to see a good show on there.. :/ I remember it used to have educational shows about animals.. Now its all...

    Hand Taming an Aggressive Mouse?

If you find someone in your area who sells frozen thawed rodents then you can ask them how they euthanize and if they can do it for you. Or you can do it yourself. I personally believe the most humane way is a CO2 gas chamber. If done correctly, the mouse will fall asleep and then pass in its...

    Hand Taming an Aggressive Mouse?

I can't help you really.. I culled all of my mice that ever bit me so now all I have is friendly mice.. If she is aggressive toward other mice as well, I think it would be best to put her to sleep.. Best of luck to you with your mouse.

What other animals do you have?

I don't breed hamsters. O.o I used to take pictures of my gerbil litters, but I haven't lately. I have too many mouse litters to photograph them. I just take photos of my favorite adult mice. All photos can be seen on my deviantart account. awaiting-abyss.deviantart.com I don't have pictures on...

What other animals do you have?

I have 50ish fancy mice (only about half are named pets), 14 rats, 5 gerbils, 2 Syrian hamsters, 2 degus 4 cats (2 are outdoor cats and aren't really mine.. I feed them when they come up to my house), 2 dogs, 3 ferrets (possibly soon to be 4), and one Western Hognose snake. I breed the mice...

Do you prefer dependent or independent cats?

I like cats a little more on the dependent side. I love cuddly cats and I love cats that will seek attention and such, but I do like a break every once in a while.

Cats and Rats, need some help.

You can put the buck in with the doe(s) for one to two weeks, but that will leave the other buck to live alone, and you'll have to reintroduce the males. Another option is to just put the buck with the doe(s) for a few hours each night and then put him back with the other buck. This may take...

Cats and Rats, need some help.

That's great! Yes, they are ready now, but if you want to wait then its fine. :) Its up to you. Do you have a tank or bin cage to put them in as a nursery?

Cats and Rats, need some help.

That's great about the cage :) I love critter nations.. They are very roomy as well!  You can add hammocks and things in the open space for them. They'll enjoy that. Female rats can safely breed as early as 3 months. They can breed sooner than that, but its risky for the female. Most people...

Cats and Rats, need some help.

If the rats are healthy up until the OP decides to breed them then there's no problem breeding them. If they come from a pet shop or bad breeder then the babies should not be offered as pets. If they came from a good breeder or feeder breeder then they are usually fine to breed. I would trust a...
