    Skinny cat that throws up.

Current AGE: 8-9 years old Stray found: around 7-8 months He was sick when I found him.  Vetted him in all ways.  Had a throw up problem since I found him.  I tried all different foods to find one that he wouldn't throw up but figured out it was probably how fast or how much he would eat. ...

Can I make an older feral cat a house cat in a different city?

It was hard to leave and I cried to leave him behind but at the time I knew the owner was moving back in and willing to care for him.  I think he knew too as he wouldn't come to me and stayed in the tree.  I have visited him throughout the years bringing my camera and a can of cat food.  He has...

Can I make an older feral cat a house cat in a different city?

Thank you for all the advice.  I can't risk him (adult feral) getting out of our current home and trying to get to his long time home in the coyote filled hills of Los Angeles that is 18-20 miles away in a car.  For sure he would die especially at his age.  I guess he is safe and happy where he...

Need Advice/suggestions/Support on trying to domesticate a scared stray/feral

I bought 3 baby gates from Craigslist and put one on top of each other to keep the new skittish kitty in the bedroom and introduce to my house cat (also skittish)  My cat was too aggressive for the kitten so she ended up being a lap kitty and was always on top of me.  So much for a playmate for...

Need Advice/suggestions/Support on trying to domesticate a scared stray/feral

You can get her pretty close to some domestication.  I had worked with my older feral male for couple of years.  I started with feeding him through a window, your circumstances is different, you have her in a room. I put his food bowl by a window and I would slowly open it (he could't hear)...

Can I make an older feral cat a house cat in a different city?

I lived in a house for 3 years up in the hills and met an adult feral male cat, named TAZ, I neutered him.  I took in a sick stray 7 month old, named Tanji.  They both got to know each other because I would leave a window open for the older feral, Taz and Tanji was only a kitten at the time...

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

I just weighed him and he lost 1/2 lb. during this trial and error with raw food and because he is little (close to 7 lbs) so I had to run out and buy can food in hopes he likes it so I can get him to eat more to gain his weight back Today he likes Chicken and Salmon Platefulls I mushed it up...

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

I am going to try to wean him off of chicken then maybe he will just eat Primal without problems.  He was throwing up with .7 oz of food, now I am at .5.  I just wish there was nutritional food he would like that I won't have a problem with him eating or throwing it up.

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

He eats about 1 teaspoon, or 1 oz or less when he throws up.  If the food is chunks that's what he throws up.  He doesn't chew his food. He throws up just minutes, up to 5 minutes after he eats before he throws up.   He usually makes his way off tile where his food is and on carpet when he...

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

Sorry forgot to add point .5. I think my scale is right.  For example one of those 3 oz cans, that would be 3 meals.  No the vet has never given anything for throwing up.  He said you have to give small portions and I thought .7-.5 or even less 1/3 of a 3oz can from the can was little.  I am not...

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

So I dropped down from 7 oz to 5 oz of died / minced chicken, he still threw up.  I try to feed him 4 meals a day but he eats when he wants to and rarely ever when I put it down.  He actually didn't eat well today at all.  So now I am at a lost.

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

I fed Tanji 7 oz of boiled chicken, shredded.  He threw up minutes later.  so I diced the chicken to bits and pieces.  One of his problems is NOT chewing.   He swallows or eats too fast.  My whole issue is him throwing up. I want to stop it,  I hope dicing to itty bitty bits will solve this problem.

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

the vet didn't mention any detail so I figured with his food intake at the time was ROYAL CANIN Gastro Intestinal Fiber Response   and since he wasn't doing good and wasn't solving the problem it led me here to make sure I am going more good then damage.

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

Tanji, fortunately does not have kidney disease yet.  The vet said he was pre-kidney.  He was on dry Royal Canin prescription.  Since hearing that I swtiched him from dry to can wet to now boiled chicken and Primal.  In 6 month I will take him back for more blood work to see if the food change...

Advice for a picky and necessary home cooked cat food

I found a cat 7-8 years ago (at 7 months) who seem to throw up all the time immediately after eating.  He would throw up within minutes of eating, so the food was whole, he would swallow more then chew.  He preferred to chew plastic.  It would be food, no furballs.  Years later with blood work...
