Hi there! So what I've done was to purchase ground chicken and turkey (without bone) from Hare Today and mixed with Alnutrin(be sure to get the one made for meat WITH bone) to create this boneless mix to dilute with. I combine this mix 1/3 and 2/3 Darwin's. Seems to have worked well, and my cats...
UPDATE:
So, I've been trying hard to dilute the bone content, mixing ground boneless meat into premixed food. And I mentioned this to someone that really advocates raw feeding. She says the vet just doesn't know what the poop should be like on raw died, and my cats are just fine!!! Ugh!!! I did...
I think I will do that and mix the parts from Hare Today, once they are okay with the food. It's very frustrating, but they refuse to eat other brands. They just want Darwin's. So I have to somehow get them to eat other brands. They used to eat Primal but only one protein, Turkey. I haven't...
@mschauer I did, thank you! It's a little confusing because I'm trying to calculate how much meat and organ to adjust per meal, and the calculator is in lb. (I am from a metric world, so I'm bad at figuring out lb vs oz)
For now, till it's time for me to order another batch from Hare Today...
@dhammagirl Thank you for your response! I had no idea some treats and supplements had calcium carbonate. I will definitely look out or that and read the back of all my treat packs. I give them Wellness Kittles and sometimes Greenies. Hopefully those don't contain any calcium.
I heard back from...
Hi guys! I've just been to the vet, and the vet felt like my Billi's poo felt a bit pebble like. So she would like me to reduce the bone content in his diet.
I currently feed Darwin's Naturals + Hare Today Bone-In ground meats (+ Alnutrin for Bone-in ground and Fish Oil). They both claim to...
I agree with @mrsgreenjeens on fish. Does she eat the FF Classic Pate? It's incredibly hard to switch kibble lovers to wet food only, but it can be done. You just have to be prepared to take it very slow. I suggest adjusting the ratio of dry and wet, very very slowly, and try experimenting with...
He seems to me a young, domestic short hair with brown tabby coat. So beautiful! I love tabby boys. I have one myself! Congratulations on your new buddy :)
My cats refuse to eat freeze dried raw food. I tried but they just say no. I ended up crumbling it up and using the rest as toppers, which they were ok with. They just don't like to eat rehydrated freeze dried food.
See, my cat wants food a little bit of food, throughout the day, when she wants it. And she gets bored of things quickly, so she wants what she wants, not that old stuff you fed me last week. So I just cannot give in to her outrageous demands. I do not negotiate with terrorists.
So just out of...
Oh no, howling! So it's not just my cats that got needier. It's great though that your Olive stopped throwing up. My cats used to puke a lot, and it was really stressful. Now they're puking a lot less, but they still puke. Sigh.
I have tried not to give in all her life, but Aloo does not give...
I don't know if this is happening to your cats too, but my cats have become so needy.
I think it's because I'm home all day... Just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else is experiencing something similar:
Aloo - She had always been food obsessed, but now she harasses me for meals...
Always getting bored of the food... And I have to run around, trying to find a food they like. Then they puke, so I have to transition slowly. Then rinse and repeat, once they get bored of that too. SIGH.
Hi! My Billi also seems to have a sensitive stomach with raw. He can't handle red meat (pukes every time), and he puked twice when I switched food from Darwin's to Hare Today. Same turkey protein, but I guess the change was a shock to his poor tummy. I gave some slippery elm to soothe his tummy...
@BaileyCat
Thank you for clarifying the Alnutrin info and also assuring me about the poop! I wasn't sure because their poop has changed a lot since changing to raw! So much smaller and less smelly, just like people have described! But there wasn't much information about the coloring. I'm glad...
