    Cat bedtime ritual

Yes, the dynamics between cats truely is a balancing act with time sharing being a common way cats divide territory. Just HOW they decide is very intriguing to me. I do believe time is a big factor. It has been almost a year since I added our newest addition Jack. Though the interaction between...

    Cat bedtime ritual

Cats can take months to adjust to new changes in their environment. Be it a new cat, change in work hours, new person around. Don't think this will be forever. Once the 2 of them have firmly developed their "relationship" he'll return to his old ways. My female stayed away from my bed for months...

    Should I get another cat?

I'm one who believes that cats are great in pairs (or even more). It is important to try and match temperaments when adding another, but at times that's just not possible. I also believe any 2 (or more) cats can learn to live together. Introductions that are done correctly will work with almost...

    9 week old kitten hissing

This is very common. The little girl just needs time to learn to trust him. I suggest rather then your boyfriend bending down towards her, have him sit or lay on the floor. Have him offer her treats and some play. Wand toys are good for this. Have him allow her to come to him. He can put his...

    Moved to new flat ....

I wouldn't be too concerned at this time that she hasn't poo'd yet. Change can unsettle cats, and perhaps some of this stress has changed her bowel routine a bit. Also it is quite common for a cat not go poo every day. Since she is aware of where the box is and has used it to wee in, I'd just...

    Attacking blanket and other cat

That's what I get for looking at posts half asleep. In that case it's possible Ciccio has claimed the blanket as it has the very strong scent of you on it. Many kittens guard certain toys, objects, ect when playing with a growl or hiss. I'd probably try washing it, or try swapping a different...

    Kneading

I too lay on my side and my female waits for just this right position so she can knead me in my armpit!

All of my last litters of kittens have been adopted :)

What a wonderful post and update! You said it so well. Thank you for expressing this. Yes, we do love each and every rescue, but I try and explain that if I kept them all, I'd then be unable to save others! They have to move on to their true forever homes. My S.O cries also when it is time to...

    Poop outside of litter box

Sorry your having this issue. Since her stools and all else seem to be normal, I think the first thing I'd try is adding just a regular litter pan just as a test. Many cats prefer a separate pan to poo in. Has anything else changed in her routine or in the household?

help posting pics from android phone (please)

Hello, sorry no one has responded before now, and perhaps you have already figured it out. I also have an Android phone and the "imbed picture" tool is the third button in the reply box on my phone. It will look like a small picture. Hope this helps.

    Nervous About Adopting Second Cat

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful boy! This sounds like a great start! Because Si seems calm and curious, the intro's may go fairly quickly, but don't be tempted to rush it. Immediately start feeding them both near the closed door to help them learn to associate good feelings accompany these...

    Nervous About Adopting Second Cat

Wow ....awesome news! How exciting! Yes it is quite natural to be nervous, but it sounds like you are well prepared. Remember to go slowly. It can take several weeks at times, but I know in the end it'll be worth it! Good luck and DO keep us posted!

    Penelope and Her Kittens

It is really best to confine them if you could. Even the bathroom would work. 4 weeks old is about when they really start learning things and also learn from momma how to use the litter box, so her box should be in there too, also with non clumping litter. If you can't confine them even in the...

    Kitten's anus is bright red

I would be doing as you are already doing and talk to my vet if I was concerned. She is probably fine since all else is normal, ie stools and all, but never hurts to ask.
