Yeah we have a pet fence up that's about 3 foot high, there's a coffee table that she can climb on and then hop onto the bed and then out. I'm more concerned that this room doesn't have space for a small litter box for the kittens or food to get them adjusted to all that.
She is very low...
OK so I haven't been here in a while. Life has been topsy-turvy for me. Lost my husband last year and went homeless and had to rehome my cats.
That said, I'm staying at someone's house for a bit and her cat had kittens. They're 3-4 weeks old now and have outgrown the area she had them in...
Ok Binky is living downstairs with my neighbor and his cat currently. His cat is chill but also dominant.
Carly has remained up here with me aND seems to be enjoying being an only cat.
I don't want to give up either of them permanently.
I have tried calming agents for their fights before, to no affect, and none of the vets around here will prescribe proactive or anything else like that.
Binky is a 5 year old spayed former feral. She is generally quite bossy.
Carly was found about two weeks after Binky stopped nursing her own kitten (we couldn't catch her in time) as an abandoned 4 week old kitten. Binky couldn't nurse her due to already having been spayed, but otherwise acted...
The post was originally written an hour ago. Carly just came out to cuddle, Binky is still hollering in my bedroom.
Carly is doing better than I thought she would. She was a daddy's girl.
There's been a lot of upheaval in my life lately. My husband was away from home for 4 months hospitalized before he passed away April 1st at the age of 32. I am sure that this hasn't been helping my cats, who are generally not friends and often squabble (but one becomes inconsolable without the...
OK so maybe things aren't winding down.
Each time I come home I have found my skittish cat in a cabinet. I have wondered why. Until tonight I saw them fight, the other chased her into a cabinet and then shut the cabinet door on her.
There's a stray outside that someone is feeding and it has...
Things are starting to wind down. However, my aunt whom they have never met is coming to stay with me for a month to help with my husband's care (she's a retired nurse and has been the caregiver of my grandparents for the past 17 years) and rehabilitation since the facility he is in is not...
I have tried feliway and spirit essences and bachs before, none of it really makes a difference for my cats it seems.
Skittish kitty took a while to come out of her cave (as a person with autism she to me seems very autistic in many ways, not just this) and then when she did she wanted...
Long story short, my husband had a major medical emergency, wasn't expected to survive and was life flighted to a better hospital an hour from where we live. I have been gone since January 15th and just got back home today. My husband is currently in a rehab facility.
My two cats are tamed up...
Hi,
We had to move in May of 2013 and were only able to take two cats and had to rehome him. I don't know how he is doing now, but he was still the same size before then
Yeah we have tried playing with her. She's simply not interested.
My husband and I are both autistic. FHS reminds us of autism so much. I even pull my hair out as an autism stim. I sometimes wonder if FHS is actually kitty autism.
Unfortunately Spirit Essences are well out of our price range. I think we still have a some Rescue Remedy, we might try that. We do have some dried lavender as well
My husband was recently seriously ill. He had a 10% chance of survival, and after six days at our local hospital he was transferred to a hospital an hour away. I was told to get up there and stay there because he could pass at any time.
The cats had been fighting so I had separated them the...
I have two cats. We're needing to move in with other people to save money. This is going to be like a 12 hour move from Arkansas to Illinois. We're moving into a apartment with two of our friends. They like cats, though neither have much experience with them.
My cats were former ferals. One was...
I have tried engaging in play with her. I have gotten her all kinds of toys. She doesn't play. Period. She's simply not interested. She has no hunting drive either. Even when she was feral she had her brothers hunting for her. There is another window she can look out of, but our other cat...
My bichon frise dog once ate a rat that had been caught with rat poison. We rushed him to the nearest emergency vet. They pumped his stomach, kept him for observation, and put him on vitamin K. Mouse/rat poison kills by causing internal bleeding. It's the same stuff a Coumadin/Warfarin, a blood...
