If you look back though this thread you'll see I used a cat litter brand from Tractor Supply for almost a year. It worked really well for about 6 months of that year. Then, like all other sodium benotite litter I've tried, it got very dusty.
I've been using Dr Elsey's Perfect Unscented for...
Friday is not soon enough. Call the vet and explain his symptoms and see if he can work him in early (today). If he,can't see another vet, if one's not available see if he's willing to prescribe some worm and ear mite meds now with the agreement that you will keep your appointment on Friday.
Pretty much any of Dr Elsey's products are a good buy. I hate that it took me so long to try the Ultra Precious Cat formula. The dust alone from those other brands was ridiculous. I hate to think what it was doing to my cat's lungs. There's hardly any dust in the Dr. Elsey's. It also clumps very...
Pedigree papers can only be obtained if a cat is obtained from a licensed breeder. I have heard of people having unregistered cats DNA tested to see what percentage of a particular breed is present. This is expensive and really only for entertainment purposes.
My cats do the same thing when they're mad at me. They turn around and have their hind end facing me. I think it's their way of saying "talk to the hand".
Wow! Fifteen? That's a lot even for a rescue. I can see where budgeting comes into play then.
I really can't see myself having more than 2... of course the 2 I have happen to be very high maintenance so there's that. I know the next cat I adopt (which will hopefully be in a decade or so) will...
It's more expensive (obviously), but the Doc Elsey's Ultra is pretty darn good so far. It clumps up like you wouldn't believe so it should last a while. It's also the lowest dust i've ever seen in a clay litter. It has a bc wry fine dust that you can just barely feel on your cat's coat. There is...
So far it reminds me of the Tractor Supply brand we've discussed several times in this thread. When i first started using it, it had very little dust. After 6 months of happy dust free kitties, it suddenly got very dusty. There's no smell like the TSC litter, too. I hate that perfume smell some...
I see your user name is @SilverPersian. I have a Domestic Long Hair with a very Persian like coat. It's very "cottony", and holds on to litter dust. I hate that b/c sometimes she comes to sit with me and a big cloud of litter dust erupts from her fur when she is stroked.
I'm going to Petco...
I think I'm going to give the Dr Elsey's a try. My girls are really balking as going back to the crumbles. I never should have switched them back to clay litter as now it's all they want.
So it doesn't disintegrate like feline pine, it swells instead?
Are the pellets sticky or messy once they've done their business? Both my girls are aggressive diggers and occasionally get litter stuck on their paws.
I think i'm going to try out the corn cob bedding next time. I bought a new bag of crumbles and after going back to clay for 6 months my girls don't like the crumble anymore.
Does the corn cob bedding smell very strongly of corn, or is it more muted? This batch of crumble is especially "barn...
Blue cats are genetically predisposed to this. I prefer to call it "a dirty look" more so than "The Stink-Eye". I get more dirty looks than i can count from my blue kitty.
