My cat is stil not eating - I'm really worried!

If he's sniffing at the food like he's interested and hungry and then walking away, he could be nauseated. That happens a lot with my hospice boy. He is on anti-nausea medication twice and day, plus an appetite stimulant. Not saying your cat has cancer, but what you described sounds like what...

    A new question

Tommy comes every night, but Lucy hasn't been back in a week. She was here at least 3 nights, but I so wish she would come back. I do wonder if Tommy has chased her off.

    A new question

Tonight I saw both of my ferals - not only did Tommy survive, but Lucy is home again. She looks good and, although cautious, didn't seem freaked out when she saw me and was talking to her. I just wanted to pick her up and love on her, but thought better. Now I need advice on setting up for...

    Tommy Update

Now I'm not sure it is Tommy. I just got a good look at the black cat walking through the yard, noticed some white on her chest and then saw her tipped ear. LUCY is back! She looks good and healthy. Now I don't know if they are both back or if I've been seeing her all this time. This is the...

    Tommy Update

Some of you might remember when my feral, Tommy, was hit by a car this summer. I was sure he had been killed, especially when I couldn't find his body and no one had seen him. About 5 - 6 weeks ago I saw him hiding by the bird feeder in my back yard, looking very thin, but very much like my...

    My Cats In Winter

i bought a kitty tube for my feral boy. It is well insulated and I hope will keep him safe and warm in our cold, snowy winter. I would suggest not using a thermal blanket or any fabric if it could get wet. Fresh straw might be a better idea. Bless your heart for taking care of this boy.

sickly stray needs...blood, a bath, dead tail snipped??? What do you think?

I agree that a bath right now would not be a good thing. I'd confine her, keep her warm, safe and well fed and let her do some recovering. The meds should help with the worms and fleas. I'd also be very cautious about giving her a lot of food at one time. Several smaller meals spread out might...

    Can it be?

Well, Tommy has been here every night at about the same time as before. He is eating well, probably more than he was before. I wonder if he isn't able to hunt as well. At any rate, I haven't seen again, but it's his routine. I did wonder about the amount of food. Right now he gets 3/4 cup of...

Little black kitten... I hope you're okay.

Is there any way you could go back to that area and set a trap for the kitten? I'd hate to think of someone that tiny trying to survive on his own.

A Cat Showed up and I'm Clueless...

She doesn't look very old, so I think that bringing her in would be a good idea. In fact, if she is going to be your permanent pet, I definitely think that keeping her indoors is a good idea. If you can put a table or something by a window where she could look outside, that would be great. As...

    Can it be?

Some of you might remember my feral boy, Tommy, who was hit by a car this summer. I never found his body, even after much searching and posting flyers. Well, a couple of weeks ago, a black cat was in my backyard very late at night (triggered the security light) but, of course it would be hard to...

    somebody help me... HELP

Had to check this morning - and I am so happy for the very good news. They are all beautiful and will have a much better life than they ever could have had outdoors. Bless your heart for being so persistent. You have saved 3 lives! catmom5

HELP - Jus picked up an alley cat and need help!!

It is always best if you let the cat dictate the terms of the relationship. Griffin has already settled in more than I would expect, so be grateful for the times he's ready for contact and let him decide when,  how much and how fast. Cats are very much individuals. I have 3 litter mates and at...

    Old kitty urinating on floor

I also have an older cat who has a myriad of health issues. There can be many reasons why your old girl is not getting to the litter box. It sounds like a box in her room would be a very good idea. It might be difficulty remembering where her box is, the stairs, not being able to hold it, etc. I...

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

Yesterday a woman called me about a black cat hit by a car on a highway not far from my house. She had seen one of the fliers I put out when Tommy was hit. I don't know if it was him or not, it could have been, but whoever it was is off of the road now and will be cremated. It would be good to...

    my cat hates my girlfriend!

I certainly don't claim to know what's best for you, but you live with an abusive roommate and date an abusive woman. It sounds like you need to make some big changes in your life, for your sake and for your cat's sake. Things are not going to get better. Your cat trusts you to protect her and...

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

Thank you for your comments and shared experiences. We searched right after the accident along the fence lines where he ran. I have since searched backyards, front yards and wherever I could get to to search for him. The other big concern I have is that we are having 100+ temperatures with NO...

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

Thanks  - my neighbor said she saw him hit. So he was hit.

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

That's the thing - I saw him run, saw the car coming and my neighbor heard a thud. I didn't see the actual hit, but she said he got right up and ran (wobbled) up the driveway across the street. I don't know how badly he was hurt. There are fences (chain link and wooden) all along the backyards...

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

Okay, another hard question - How long before I give up that he will ever come back? There has been no sign of him now and it's been over a week. At what point is it reasonable to think he has either died or moved on to a "safer" place? It's hurtful to not know, but at some point, I feel like...
