Maybe you could try them on the Royal Canin BabyCat cans? It comes in chunks and it was what I fed my Cookie when she was a kitten before I switched them to raw.

My three indoor cats are on commercial raw and the occasional can of wet food, and I always see them drinking water. But I'm pretty sure it's only cause they want to play with it, especially Cookie. :lol3:

I would get Henry to a vet ASAP, because it sounds very very painful! It seems to me to be an abscess of the root, but you should definitely have it examined by a professional as soon as possible. I hope that your kitty feels better soon and I wish him a speedy recovery. :vibes:
