Personal choice really, I don't like taking a computer to school and I do have a working laptop if I do decide that I need it for school. Plus I am a klutz, for me a desktop is a better investment.

This was Emma the day she was born. I got a text with a cruddy photo saying the kittens were born. one male one female ... I took the female so she would never have to have kittens. Its a long story. 

Emma wears and collar and has since the vet said she was old enough. she is also microchipped. I personally just feel more comfortable knowing she has an ID and such on her at all times. And the collar shows at a glance that she has a home.

I keep reading varying things, Like the above article states same gender, but temperament is the most important. 

I thought I read something about getting a male since I have a female, is there any merit to that? Because I would hate to eliminate cats just due to them being female. 

Same name different spelling, If we get a female cat I do think I have a name picked.  We were just thinking bringing home a male would be easier with an existing female. Though I am going to keep reading, because I would hate to eliminate potentially family members just due to gender. 

Yes, sorry about the confusion, I want a girl dog, and a boy cat, However we are only actually looking for a cat right now. Baylee was going to be Ryli's name if he was a girl lol.  We are planning to go to the SPCA and pick out a cat. I am really excited. 

Emma and Ryli were both named before they were born.  We are actually looking for a little boy cat. 

We are planning to adopt another cat in a few weeks, Which means he will need a name.  Currently we have Emma ( Our Torti) , Ryli( Our Dog) , and I am thinking Baylee for our next dog, someday I would love to add a little girl dog to the family.  I like cute human names apparently lol. 

I have looked at the stainless and ceramic ones, but all have some plastic parts as far as I have seen. I have been reading a ton of reviews and watching videos on water fountains, I just can't figure out if its the right fit for Emma.
