recently my vet found "problems" with Nibbley's kidneys. He showed me a chart that had four parts to a blood panel. ONE element of the four (forgot the darn name!) was high so the vet put him on Hill's K/D diet to "prevent further issues"
Was putting Nibbley on this K/D diet neccessary...
His name is BB (short for Blue Bird) and he is a blue mutation Pacific Parrotlet (think Amazon parrot shrunk down to parakeet size).
He is a bit independent and nippy, but he loves to snugggle under my hair and he knows "step-up". I've owned friendlier ones in the past, but I love him dearly no...
Hi, I have been a member on this site for years and recently opened my home to four male Guinea Pigs. I started out with one pet store pig and wound up adopting 3 others and building two large C&C cages to house them in. On GuineaLynx.com, there is a thread about kitty pics. Many members of...
We just PTS my eldest cat Blondie on April 13th. She was very anxious and sick alot so my Parents decided it was time. She was around 13 years old.
I wanted to have her cremated and to keep her ashes in an urn. My mother said it was sick and bordered on idolatry. She wouldn't hear of it. So...
1. Starship Troopers (horrible mess of a movie)
2. King Kong (the size of the gorrilla kept changing, the fight scenes with the Dinosaurs were ridiculous and ridiculously long, the acting was terrible, the roles were miscast, and I could go on ad nauseum
3. Signs and The Village (both M Night...
O.K, here's my list:
Cat figurines
Beanie Babies (NOT too many, just the occassional one that strikes my fancy):
Shot Glasses
Key Chains
Anne Rule (true crime) books
This is LONG, so I apologize.
My oldest cat, Blondie has lived with my parents since I moved away and got married. She is a very, very sensitive soul who gets beat up and terrorized by other cats. She also has a very strong bond with my mother. Due to her age and circumstances I felt it was...
You are right papers themselves mean nothing to the uniformed and unfortunately this lack of education is where all those "Siamese", I use the term loosely, come from.
Please don't put words in my (or anyone else's) mouth. Papers mean nothing to me because I am not interested in creating more...
don't care about papers, here are some in U.S shelters in my area (midwest)
They are a tiny fraction of the amount listed just on Petfinder (over 2,000! the number includes Siamese mixes) as opposed to 150+ Aby listed (most are LISTED as Aby mixes, many are not) I would say fewer than 30 are...
That's fine and understandable. I was lucky with Nibbley. The shelter said his owners loved him VERY much and he was well-taken care of. He is a purebred, but since I am not breeding (and never will) his bloodline makes no never mind to me as far as him being a loving companion cat...
Thanks!! I spotted that one at a Pet Expo in Milwaukee, WI. My husband snatched it up and wouldn't let me get one for myself. (He's kind of possessive of his "boy" Nibbley)
I don't know about the UK, but here in the U.S, purebred Siamese in shelters and rescues are as common as dirt (but VERY desirable, lovable "dirt") Here is my beautiful traditional applehead sealpoint boy, Nibbley. At the shelter near me, the fee is waived for ANY cat over a year. He was nine...
I only bowl occassionally but I love it!! I just got a new bowling ball (I am left-handed and have short stubby fingers so it is better that I have my own) and my own new bowling shoes (I don't care for the rented shoes).
My bowling isn't great though. I can break 100 sometimes but my usual...
I "own" three but only two live with me (lease restrictions and my oldest cat gets beat up by other cats and she is scared to death so she lives alone at my parent's home).
My personal number would be FOUR cats. I would always want to own a Siamese, an Abyssinian or mix, two other DSH cats...
Do you rent or own?
How old were you when you got your first home?
My husband and I are nearing 40. I have lived in a (my parent's) home for most of my life until 37. I have had short stints in apartments but mostly have lived in a home. I live in apartment with my husband now. We simply...
Really? Not to sound uniformed, but whenever I watch Animal Cops (New York City) Many apartments are LOADED with all kinds of animals. One apartment the officers visited had like 10 dogs and they were all allowed. I was told NYC is very pet-friendly and has no limits on the numbers of pets...
