    New Vet Recommended Adding Raw!!

I'm very surprised that the vet recommended feeding raw fish. I always thought that was a big no-no. Though I suppose if it's only given very infrequently it might not be so bad. This site is one of many that I found which explains the potential hazards.

    IBS or sensitive system?

The correct spelling is "Bene-Bac". Short for "Beneficial Bacteria". Links: http://www.petco.com/Shop/SearchResu...0&Ntt=bene-bac http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2751735

    Hello! Few questions.

Yes, you can start to feel them roughly two weeks before the due date. I would personally feed her as much as she wants --- she's going to need the extra calories. I wouldn't necessarily treat the feeding guidelines on packages of cat food as gospel, but they can give you a rough idea of how...

    Getting frustrated! (litterbox issues)

The general rule is one box per cat, plus one extra. So, to me it sounds like there are enough boxes for your crew. I'm not sure how old your kittens are, but kittens do tend to have accidents, though, so adding a couple more, if you can, might help. I'm just thinking out loud here, but the...

    LOUD siamese

Please give this poor cat a chance. You have only had her for 2 days. Cats sometimes take months to get settled in to a new location. Her world has been turned upside down with a sudden change in territory and she has no idea yet what you want from her. Contemplating giving her to someone...

Moving in with a boy for the first time

Pffffffft. Sorry, sounds like a lost cause! Oh, I know it's all in good fun. I should have put a few of these at the end of my post to make that clear. I'm gonna stop now before this thread gets way too off-topic....

Moving in with a boy for the first time

I do it every. single. time. AND --- this is really going to blow your mind --- I always keep the seat down. No need to apologize; I'm used to the male bashing on this site.

Moving in with a boy for the first time

Some people are just so bitter over past failed relationships, and this bitterness shows through in instances like this. They try to come across as being funny, but you can't tell me there aren't sour feelings underneath. To me, that's what's going on here. When my wife announced to some...

    Jordan's vet trip today

I would much rather read a thread written by someone who worries about their cat's well-being, than to read one written by someone who doesn't show appropriate concern until it's too late --- if at all. Worrying isn't stupid. NOT worrying, however, certainly can be.

Am I just a paranoid freak? (Vet issue)

I don't know anything about dogs, so I can't help in that regard. But I've always said that if you aren't comfortable with a vet (or any other medical provider, for that matter), for any reason, then you should look elsewhere. The fact that she is "the most praised about vet in town" is...

    New Kitty V. Old Mama

Kindly provide sources supporting your statements regarding spraying and post-neuter urinary problems. Because they run contrary to everything that I (and, I would expect, most others) have ever read, both on this site and elsewhere.

    Orphan kittens

They usually can't eliminate on their own until they are about 3 weeks old. Are you sure they're currently only 11 days old?

    Cat acting differently.

That's exactly what I thought as I read your post. For most of two years, you were Murray's world --- the only live creature with whom he could interact. Now he has another of his species to spend time with. Calypso is fulfilling some of his needs for which he used to rely on you (well....to...

New abnormal night behavior in new apartment is making me crazy!!

I would have said that your assessment is correct if not for the fact that she stopped "chirping" once you moved to the couch. If she did in fact simply want all of your attention, I would think that she would have followed you to the couch. That being said, I have no alternate explanation...

    Major :vibes: for Caesar please

This situation screams "vet visit ASAP." Between the inappropriate elimination and the lethargy/change in behavior, it is very likely that he needs medical attention. Please don't wait, because an untreated UTI could kill him if enough time elapses.

    acting strange

I empathize with your unpleasant situation, but honestly, what are members of this site supposed to do in a situation like this? We cannot physically examine your cat. Moreover, we are not trained and licensed professionals. All we can do is try to provide practical advice based upon the...

    cat pooping on couch

That's an obnoxious and disgusting "solution" to the issue , not to mention a counter-productive one, despite your impressions of cause-and-effect. You won't find a single animal behaviorist who would endorse such an approach.

    Cat companion?

You seem to want/need to be 100% positive that your cat does in fact want a companion cat before you commit to anything. But it doesn't work that way. It would be nice if it did, but it doesn't. Like everything else in life, it comes down to risk versus reward. Simply put, there is only...
