I do already know of a low cost clinic fairly close to be but it would still be a 35 minutes drive. As soon as my finances are better (by the end of the year) I want to contact the vet that has already seen Sissy and my beardie two years ago to see how much they would charge.
My cat Sissy has had a rough month so I suppose that could be the cause but I'd like some other opinions. She was the most laid back and mellow cat but over the past month she was in heat for seven days, then she got sick (vomiting due to constipation and possible enteritis according to the...
I had to take Sissy to the vet today. The vet felt poo in Sissy's intestine during the physical exam so they took a couple of X-rays. Her diagnosis is, constipation and possible enteritis (inflamed and irritated intestines). The vet said that Sissy could also possibly have a liner obstruction...
Thanks for the info oldgloryrags. I'm 100% sure Sissy isn't pregnant. She is a strictly indoor cat and she hasn't had any escapes or even escape attempts. I also want to add that my husband and I put food grade diatomecous earth down on all the carpets and furniture for the fleas. The bag says...
Oh I should add that both cats had fleas and we gave them the Pet Armor Plus spot treatment on Sept. 7. The day we treated them is the day Sissy went into heat. I'd say it lasted about six or seven days.
God I hope it's not that. I would list the reasons why we haven't gotten them fixed but most people would just see them as excuses. For example, not enough money. I could probably take her to a vet early this week but I'd have to borrow the money. Of course this had to happen when my husband is...
I want to add that Sissy certainly isn't acting sick. She isn't lethargic or sleeping more than usual. In fact she has been playful when she is awake. I know cats are masters at hiding illness or injury but my thought is she wouldn't be playful if she was ill.
Sissy just came out of an estrus cycle four or five days ago. Since then she has been slightly aggressive (hissing and swatting) if her sister comes near her. Now today Sissy has vomited three times. The first two times food came up but this most recent vomiting didn't bring up food despite the...
She has been more clingy than usual, preferring to sleep close to me when normally she doesn't. She has also been more jumpy and is more easily startled by a sudden noise. Other than those two things she is fine though. Eating, drinking, bathroom, and play habits are all normal. She's not...
UPDATE: I think the problem came to light today. She has been shedding and I think dead skin was blocking her um exit. The skin came off today and had a BM a short time after and it came out fine.
Yep acting completely normal otherwise. Active and eating like a pig. She only has to strain when starting the act of having a bowel movement and not for very long before it comes out. Lately I've been giving her more greens than insects so maybe if I gave her insects more often it would help.
She's been doing it for a few weeks now. I don't think she's dehydrated because I feed her plenty of fresh greens with water spritzed on them plus I give her baths and spray her at least twice a day with a water bottle. Usually when she is thirsty she will drink from the water bottle as I'm...
