    California Natural alternative?

The lady who runs the specialty store here gave me samples of Felidae Chicken & Rice. My picky elderly cat loves the sample. So I'm thinking that when I run out of CN, we're going to give the Felidae a try.

    Another Cat Food Question

I fed my cats the Purina Naturals for a while (they LOVED it). I mixed it with Cat Chow in the blue bag, my oldest really likes both. They didn't like the Purina ONE formulas we tried.

Severe loss of appetite after vaccination

Try and find someone who uses the Purevax Rabies vaccine next time your cat is due. Two of my cats used to have bad reactions to the adjuvented 3 year vaccine. My cats don't have problems with the Purevax Rabies shot at all. You can also talk to the vet about giving an antihistamine shot before...

    Need Advice,Cat Limping/RedSoreNail

Definitely call the vet. My Mom had a cat who would get recurring infections of his dewclaw that required antibiotics. He eventually had to have it removed.

    Cats declawed?

It really is. We've always left an apartment cleaner when we move out than it was when we moved in. When we lived in Iowa our apartment complex was subject to city inspections...The inspector couldn't believe we had 3 cats, she said normally they would smell it in the hall (i.e. cat pee smell )...

    Aren't these adorable?? (Cat Collars)

VERY IMPORTANT - P&G buys more quality food

I only bought 1 more bag of California Natural. I have an extra air tight container that fits the whole 15 lb unopened bag into it. Plus I just started a 15 lb bag and it lasts us quite a while. I think even by the time we're done with the current bag I'll be able to tell if Natura/P&G decide...

    Did Iams change their recipe?

They changed the canned formulas when they redesigned the labels. I think something changed in the dry at the same time, because one of my cats who is very sensitive to changes won't touch their dry anymore either. My other cats just don't eat it, or throw up if they do. My mom's cats will only...

is the original drinkwell fountain dishwasher safe?

I used the dishwasher for the main 2 big parts a few times. Top rack only, and turn off the hot dry. I hand washed everything else. Usually I just hand wash everything. I soak them in hot soapy water, and a little bleach. If I leave them in there a while, it washes up really well (usually I...

    Drinkwell Fountain Cleaning

I have the Drinkwell Original. I usually soak it in soapy water that has a little bleach in it before I scrub it with brushes. That really helps. I do take apart the pump and clean it. Before I realized I could do that I was unhappy at how dirty the fountain kept getting.

    Soft claws

Stimpy, my brown tabby, always looks with Red or Blue collars. Maybe red or blue Soft Claws would look good on your cat. I only used Soft Claws for a few months on Lola when she was a kitten. We were transitioning between our last apartment and buying a house. We used the clear ones from the...

    Eponine has cancer

We lost our Raven to vaccine related fibrosarcoma. His was inoperable, and we had about 6 months with him after diagnosis. He had tumors everywhere internally at the end. His started with a lump on his spine, near his tail. This website was very helpful for me. http://www.zzcat.com/ I'm very...

    Used cat furniture, safe?

I used furniture flea spray and a diluted bleach spray on our used cat furniture and that worked just fine. It did take several days before it was ready to come into our home though. First I did the flea treatment and let dry in the sun. Then the diluted bleach spray and let dry in the sun. Back...

    Littr Box Questions

1.) What type of litter do you use? -We have switched to Swheat Scoop multi cat for the upstairs box. I am still transitioning the 3 boxes we have in the basement, so they are a mix of scooping clay litter and either wood stove pellets (Feline Pine) or Feline Pine scoop. 2.) Which box do you...

    Opinion please

Let us know what your cats think if you try it. It's on my list of things to have the cats try because of what I've been reading about California Natural. My Nabu is very picky and this formula has caught my eye.

VERY IMPORTANT - P&G buys more quality food

I just sent a message to California Natural. I really don't have a lot of options if Nabu stops eating the food. He's very very picky.

    Are spider plants ok?

Spider plants are safe. But my cats ate my last ones down to stumps after we moved and didn't have hangers. I was just thinking about getting another recently.

So Green Pea cant be an allergen for cats?

California Natural has a Sweet Potato and Herring formula. We use their chicken & rice formula due to food intolerance by a couple of my cats.

    Canned Food

Congrats on your new kitty. I give my oldest pretty much whatever he wants. On dry food I've been able to find something higher end he likes, but when it comes to canned food - it better say "Purina" on the label. He kind of switches around, we feed Fancy Feast right now. He gets bored...
