Does Anything Know Anything About Uber?

I'm wondering if anyone knows enough about Uber to help me out with an issue. I"ve taken them a few times and so has my sister. She had a subscription to Uber Eats (got sucked in by a free offer) and they kept charging 9.99 even after she went through the hoops to cancel it. Now it's happening...

    RIP Miss Chiquita

I hope it's okay to post this, as she was not my cat. She was the office cat at the rescue where I volunteer. She was loved by so many people it's heartbreaking to know she's gone. I did get a chance to visit with her on Tuesday, and I'm happy we went. She was the office greeter and donation...

Does anybody have a cat that eats their fur after brushing?

If I don't pick up all the fur I get off Cricket during/after brushing her, she'll eat it. I did ask the vet, who just laughed. She said some cats do that including their clinic cat. So I guess it's okay, it just seems really weird.

What is it with Cats and Books?

It isn't even a book, it's my pocket calendar. I am at my computer and had it open. Austin came along, scratched on it and got comfy.

My father is in the ER again

He had his blood test, his kidney numbers are better but he has dangerously low sodium and calcium levels. Doctor said take him to ER. I feel so bad that I can't be up there. I hate that this all falls on my sister, she has her own medical issues and anxiety disorder (as do I). I'm feeling very...

Dangers of yarn and string to cats

I was looking at the TCS Facebook page and saw a picture of someone playing with their cat with yarn. Pictures like that freak me out. I see it all the time on the knitting/crochet FB groups I'm in. I keep trying to educate people (as I was educated), so here are a few articles that I think...

Father on the way to the ER

My father, Jack, had his blood drawn this morning. His doctor called a bit ago and said his potassium and kidney results are slightly elevated. He's been to the kidney doctor not long ago, and those results are the same. That doctor said he isn't worrying about it based on the fact that my...

    Deodorant/Antipersperant

Since we were talking about soap in the Q of the day questions, I thought I'd throw this out there. The deodorant/antipersperiant I used to use was unscented and lately they have added a "masking agent." So it is no longer unscented, which they don't seem to realize. When I complained to them...

Think your cat doesn't understand what you're saying?

A few days ago I had a doctor appointment, and was getting ready to leave. I was going downstairs and Cricket was going upstairs. As she does, she tried to lure me into going up with her so we could hang out. I said "I can't now, Cricket, I have to go to the people vet." Then I decided heck, I...

Recommendations for an over the range microwave?

So, the handle on my 28 year old microwave has been broken off the bottom part, and finally snapped all the way off this morning. Husband can't can't you use pliers to get it open? Um...it's 28 years old. Time to get a new one. Since I haven't looked at microwaves in ever, I could use some...

Can someone offer some suggestions for a strange request?

Trying to help my sister. She has a space that is approximately 39" L, 35-36" H, 12.5" deep that she wants to put something solid in like a cabinet of some sort. We have both been looking and not coming up with anything. It doesn't have to be a cabinet, what she needs is something by her bed...

Is replacing carpeting and kitchen flooring dangerous to cats?

I would very much like to get new carpet and new flooring (laminate probably), but research suggests doing so could be harmful to my cats. There would be no way to block off these rooms from them, and I can't keep them locked in a bedroom for the number of weeks it would take to dissipate the...

    Planting Shrubs

I need some advice on what kind of shrubs/bushes to plant in front of my porch. The shrubs there now are dying, so I called a landscaper to see if there was anything I could do to save them. He said the only way would be to dig them up, change the soil, and replant, but it wouldn't be cost...

    posterior capsulotomy surgery

Has anyone had this procedure following cataract surgery? I had cataract surgery in 2019.I had a visit with the ophthalmologist recently and he told me cells were growing under the lens (or some such thing) and scheduled me for laser surgery to correct it. The more I read about it, the more...

Bomb Squad called to the street my sister lives on!

I'm totally freaked out. Someone found a backpack with wires coming out of in their driveway attached to a neighbor's house. Police and bomb squad are there. It's down on the other end of the street from her house, but no idea about what's going on now. I guess they Xrayed it.

    Why does Austin...

...velcro himself to me when I'm in the kitchen cooking? How can I get him to stop? He is a jumper and I worry one of these days he's going to jump on the stove. He doesn't like people food, so that's not the reason.

    Greenies Pill Pockets

When Cricket had a UTI, I was able to easily give her the pills using Chicken Flavor pill pockets. She loved them. So I started giving her a bit just as a treat, every once in a while. I just bought a new bag from Chewy, opened it up last night, and it smelled awful, very strong, not like the...

    Drapes for traverse rods?

I have room darkening drapes in the family room with foam backing. I've been hesitant to wash because of the foam, but the instruction say wash in cold/gentle cycle, tumble dry. So I took a chance yesterday and a lot of the foam melted and stuck together. So basically ruined :(.I really like...

Can anyone tell me what these lab results mean?

Two mornings ago, Austin wouldn't eat. I tried all of his favorite food, wet and dry. I tried treats. He wouldn't eat, and he seemed a little subdued. I called the vet and she wanted to see him. He's 3 years old, and she hadn't done blood tests on him prior to this. She did a thorough exam and...
