POLL: Ability to Afford Premium Food v. Ownership

There are so many homeless cats here, the last questions I ask potential adopters of my rescue kittens is what brand of food they will feed, I am just happy to find a home for them. I would rather a cat have a home and be fed meow mix (Though I would never feed my own cats that) than to end up...

When does it become too many cats?

You have never been there...That IS exactly what you see, cats spread out all over the 12 acres. Its not the largest rescue, but the largest NO CAGE rescue.

When does it become too many cats?

And Also: If National Geographic gets a certain number of good responses from viewers they will come back and make it an actual series and film more episodes. I am a little biased cause I know the "actors", but it was very fun to watch, and sad as well. Also, add them on Facebook...

When does it become too many cats?

I foster kittens for this rescue, and have been to the rescue itself. The cats are not crammed in corners of the house, they actually do roam throughout the entire 12 acres. They have multiple buildings on the property, not just the one house. They have an isolation building for sick cats, a...

A day at Rockwood Park *Pic heavy*

Very pretty! We don't have anything pretty close to me (I would have to drive an hour or more!) Love the animals!

    Litter change frequency

I have 2 larger litterboxes (Which are actually flat under the bed storage boxes turned into litterboxes!), and then 2 covered, and 3 small ones for kitten use. I change them every single day! Costs a lot to buy litter, and litterbox liners..But it keeps the house smelling fresh (Well..>With the...

How many cats are too many?

Nobody who has actually been to my home, and seen my cats has ever called or insinuated I was a hoarder...but multiple people on animal forums who have NEVER met me or seen my animals in person, or been to my house have. Those people clearly have a number in their head, and if someone goes over...

5 Feral kittens now in my home! Taming advice!

I have been putting antibiotic ointment in his eye, it looks a lot better! Just needs a good cleaning now. His eye looks squinty all the time though, one eye is actually bigger than the other! The rescue I foster for is helping me out with them. They have all been spayed/neutered already, and...

    Help...

Are you sure she doesn't have an owner? I think anyone who payed for a cat to get its leg amputated would be looking for her! It costs money to do amputations. Our Persian Martin does the same thing. His previous owners made him an outside cat..Yes, an outside Persian! He had already been...

    Why do cats love boxes?

Honestly, my cats prefer boxes over any cat tree or toy I buy them! I think most cats do lol

    Nursing issue

I also agree, kittens will usually start to nibble food at this age (You can give them KMR stage 2 mixed with some canned food).. My mama cat STILL nurses her 6 week old kittens, but not for very long each feeding. They just do it for fun I think lol

5 Feral kittens now in my home! Taming advice!

The tabby boy, who we call Melvunky because he looks like our boys Melvin and Monkey, is actually doing really well. He doesn't run away unless we reach out to grab him. He is out all the time, playing with the other kittens and playing with the toys! He is becoming really tame, and I have a...

5 Feral kittens now in my home! Taming advice!

The boys got neutered yesterday. I handle them a couple times a day (before work and after) one at a time. They are already less hissy, but still super shy and they run from me and give me a chase. I have found someone wanting to take ALL 5 to use as barn cats!! And I just might take him up on...

Automatic feeders with multiple multiple cats?

I have 10 cats in the house, and they are all freefed from one feeder. None are overweight (Except one, but he has thyroid issues). And we feed canned food every night. I never have problems with using the feeders. I can't feed 10 cats separate meals everyday, that would be very hard to do! lol...
