I'm not sure if this counts or not, but here goes.
My husband and I, (mainly I), are involved with some local rescues as a pet foster home. Often times, (at least for us!), this means having a stray, (usually feral), momma and young kittens live in our guest bedroom and bathroom. The result is...
Mom and the two boys are happy She is content with the box I gave her and rolls on her back and purrs when I check in on them.
One I will call cream 'cause he is a lighter color.
But the other one is identical in color to the orange orange that I ate this morning, so I'm going to refer to him...
I think we've decided/accepted that she only has two kittens. I feel something roundish in there but it doesn't feel much like it's actually attached to anything, so it can't be a head.
Mom is happy, relaxed, and nursing. I believe she is a first time mom, and is doing great. Every time I go...
i'll start by saying that my husband has the car at work, and i won't be able to get my cat, Alice, to the vet until around 11:30-12 tonight after he gets off of work. (vet has stated to call around end of business and he will give us his cell to call when on our way if we need to)
Alice came...
he died the person at the emer. vet office (it was sunday, normal vet not open) didnt seem to care at all about the issue when i talked to them.
you win some you lose some. the remaining kittens are HUGE and healthy. they look the size of 1-2 week olds but are 4 days.... giants!
little kitten refuses the bottle and spits out the srynge milk. when mom comes to take him when he cries, after i try feeding him i let her until he starts getting cold again and then repeat the process.
My vet said it is fine for pregnant cats, and if there are still fleas after the babies are born, or on the babies that i can spray the spritz bottle directly onto her body on her back (so the smell doesnt get into the air and make her foam at the mouth) and that i can rub some on a cottin ball...
Mom pretty much told one of her kittens buh-bye. So I wanted to see if there's anything I can do.
He is very tiny and cold (he is on a heating pad right now) He is very tired and lethargic and is currently refusing the bottle.
Do I just give up, or? (trying to figure out how to use the srynge...
the kittens were born on the 24th... so they're 15 days old today..... as far as it being her last litter, i adopted her 3 days before she gave birth so that she could be spayed and wouldn't end up a 'fertile stray' so the plan has always been to love, wean, then spay. my fiancee...
i adopted a couple of 8 week olds that had the same problem, their old home was dirty so i figured it would be ok in my clean home .. wrong! after a while of me scrubbing my carpets they all of a sudden decided that the litter box was the place to go. (thank heavens)
okay, thanks. i moved the babies and Momma into my bedroom and Momma seems a little happier there. (it's smaller and i suppose she feels safer)... this way i can keep a better eye on them and can try to keep them bundled up a bit after they fall asleep from exploring their box. (only one...
my Momma was all over the bedroom before she had her babies... then i brought her into the living room with me while i got online and she preceded to hang out on the couch and then going back to the bedroom.... all before deciding to start having them UNDER the couch on the almost white carpet...
they accept payment plans, but they wants 80$ down each for the emergency fee, which makes me kind of angry. i'm trying to find one that will help for cheaper but i've had no luck so far :'(
should i try supplementing a little bit until we have the money, or might that cause them to be...
a couple young kits ive adopted have seemed to feel the same about the water dish, they seemed kinda confused about it's purpose since it was so big n they were so small.... theyve always eventually figured it out...... but if you're concerned about the health then you should try and offer...
