The girls are doing well! Running and playing in their onesies, looking too adorable :)
The stitches are completely dry, and seem to be getting better by the day. Still rough to the touch, but less red and no leaking of any kind.
Freddie does have a little lump near the bottom of her's, which...
Their sites seem to be doing alright - just a little rough to the touch, which I assume is normal? Volta's is a bit more red and raw-looking around the stitches themselves, but neither have had any bleeding or puss!
Thank you!! It's reassuring to know my instincts (and the other forum suggestions!) were correct. :)
The grey long-hair (Volta) is a little too small for her onesie, so she was wriggling out of it a bit last night, but with a few stitches and a readjustment it seems like it will work out.
They...
Hey folks! I know there are already a host of other posts about this, and I've searched through and read them alllll... but I wanted to address a more comprehensive set of questions / experiences, and see if anyone could weigh in!
My two female kittens are now 5.5 months, and just got spayed on...
Thanks for all the replies! I purchased a relatively inexpensive wet food feeder on Amazon, and it seems to help a little... they still crave attention SO early in the morning, but I'm hoping they'll grow out of that at least a bit :)
Kittens; the cutest little terrors around.
I do the same when I'm away, this is specifically for early mornings. We've lost so much sleep, and have tried almost everything to get the kittens into a better routine, but we're at our wits end and looking for a better, more reliable option.
It definitely does pose a challenge, and reviews are so mixed. It's true, we only need it for morning feedings (possibly not even *every* morning, as sometimes I'm up very early for work).
Thanks for the links to threads. I was having trouble finding one with a double-compartment that could be...
Thank you so much! This sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. In shopping around, I've found mostly single (small) compartment, or ones that can't be programmed to open at the same time.
I also planned on keeping the cans refrigerated until bedtime (when I load the feeder), which I think...
Hi there! I've looked through a number of posts on the forums, and haven't found precisely what I'm looking for... if it is buried in there, I apologize for redundancy :)
I have two kittens, approximately 5 months old. Needless to say, they eat A LOT at this stage. We've been giving them a...
I'm so happy to report that the girls are officially in the clear! Monday's vet visit was a huge success; they're negative for giardia, and are finally at the right weight (3 lbs each). They also got their last round of rabies vaccines and their 2nd fvrcp (one more round to go) with no side...
Thanks! I'm happy to say the kittens are officially in the clear now, giardia test on Monday came back negative, and they're finally at the weight they should be! :-D
I'm in a battle with giardia and have a few questions if anyone can help...
When the first bout of diarrhea and sad leaky butts hit, our living room was ground zero (we came home to a literal sh*t storm... lol). I have cleaned surfaces and floors, and wiped and scrubbed spots on furniture and...
Finally some answers! It's giardia. We've got a new, more aggressive deworming treatment, and will be picking up another round of targeted antibiotics tomorrow. Here's hoping we can kick this once and for all!
Breaking out the diluted bleach solution tonight...
Ohhh boy. I hate to report back with bad news, but it seems like they may not be out of the woods just yet...
After one week on metronidazole (last dose was Monday night/about 36 hrs ago), they *were* feeling great, poops were normal. Now this morning Volta has diarrhea again... she's made it...
They will be indoor only, and will be the only cats in the household. I did have another cat before them (we lost her in late March). Would there be any concern of contamination from my last cat's presence...? Any way they could become sick from something she may have carried? (Her death was due...
Thanks for sharing your experience! Their initial fecal tests came back negative, but I understand there are different shedding cycles, etc... the vet ran blood tests last night that didn't show any live parasites, but again, those things sure can hide... the first vet had suggested I hold off...
Well... they were extremely lethargic all day, and barely ate or drank, so I took them into the vet hospital this evening. Both were severely dehydrated, and hardly wanted to move at all :'(
After lots of diagnostic testing and examination, they administered a sub-q shot of fluid, a round of...
