    Mass in bladder, ? Surgery?

No they did not recommend nsaid for her as she was on Prednisolone and the Vet didn't think nsaid would be of further benefit. She was on Chlorambucil along with it and the two of those kept the mass in check for over a year. You might ask your vet if adding Chorambucil would be beneficial. I...

Advice needed: cat with lung cancer

First, I am very sorry about Tigraki, but can well relate to what you are going through now. I had a cat, age 15, female, spayed, indoors only, who also had lung cancer. It was discovered by accident on X-ray while looking for something else. There were no obvious signs, coughing up blood...

    Recurring corneal ulcers

I am very sorry your cat is having reoccurring corneal ulcers. My cat had her first corneal ulcer a year ago, but it healed on its own with Ofloxacin (antibiotic) drops and soothing eye gel. This year she got it again, but in both eyes, so I took her to an Ophthalmologist who said it was most...

    Bowen's Disease

Hi, Thank you AlexaB for your very kind words. My little girl Light would be so pleased that her battles with Bowen's helped you and your cat. How wonderful that you have a very caring, attentive vet. That's half the battle. And wonderful news that the new lesions were not malignant. But...

    Phosphorus binder questions

I have Miralax, but it is a fine line with my cat. She also has IBD and it doesn't take much to precipitate diarrhea. I see some using Epikitin which perhaps doesn't have the constipating side effect. Do you have any insights on that?

    Phosphorus binder questions

Thank you for your helpful response. The dosage the vet recommended has caused constipation, so I think I'm going to slow the Phosphate binder to 1/8 tsp twice a day to start, not 1/4 tsp twice a day. Yes, I do use the Tanya's website; very informative. Thanks!

    Phosphorus binder questions

Thank you for your response. I have a follow-up appointment with the vet in about 6 weeks. Fortunately, your kitty will eat prescription food, but at 21 1/2 years old, my vet said to feed her whatever she will eat. It's a juggling act for sure with meds, fluids, food, supplements etc.

    Bowen's Disease

Thank you so very much for sharing your detailed experience with your cat's Bowen's Disease as well as the good photos! It is a tribute to your persistence and going with your gut instinct. I am only reading this now as I've been off this site for a while dealing with a new issue with my cat...

    Phosphorus binder questions

How was Twyla's phosphorus value at your followup on July 1 @Twylasmom ? I ask because my cat was recently started on the Phosphorus binder from Thriving Pets too. Her Phosphorus was 6.4 and her weight is 3.1 kg (6.82lb.). According to my calculations from the Dr. Nagode's Protocol, she would...

    Non Regenerative Anemia

I am very sorry you are in this position now. Been there...done that. I had a 15 year old indoor cat who had a presumed combination of immune mediated hemolytic anemia and anemia of chronic inflammatory. (He had IBD). It was presumed and successfully treated as such after tests ruled out...

    Bowen's Disease

That is great that you heard from your vet, and even better news that the SCC is IN SITU. Rather than worry at this point about the nosepad or foot, I suggest you consult with a good Vet Dermatologist ASAP. That vet can look at the nosepads, foot, and/or all over the body to determine if those...

    Bowen's Disease

I can well understand your stress over all this, but take a deep breath; take one step at a time. First, you need to get the biopsy report back. It usually takes 4-5 days up to a week. If that amount of time has passed, follow up. Before any treatment decisions can be made you need a...

    Bowen's Disease

First, welcome to this small, but specialized club...but sorry you have to be here. Like the rest of us, Bowen's Disease is diagnosed after a lengthy process where everything else is ruled out. Because it is so rare, vets are usually not knowledgeable about it. My vet admits she has only seen...

    Ventral bulla osteotomy

That's great news about Maxine! Based upon my cat's successful surgery, I didn't really have any worries, but it is scary and expensive as you found out...but totally worth it. Maxine is a lovely girl! May she continue to enjoy the best of health for many more years!

Suspected IBD or Lymphoma... is surgery worth it?

I wouldn't do Zofran at the same time as Cerenia without vet's direction. My IBD girl was recently hospitalized for pancreatitis and given Cerenia in the morning and Zofran at night. She still gets 1/2 Zofran at night which helps prevent morning nausea. She wakes up hungry and lively. The...

    Feline Stroke. Please Help!

@di and bob, you mentioned something reducing the chance for blood clots in the future, which brought something to mind. After my cat had her stroke, the vet neurologist prescribed Amlodopine to reduce blood pressure, and also a portion of a baby aspirin daily (can't recall the exact dosage) to...
