I bought the core chicken, am still waiting to feed it to him, and I've tried Hounds and Gatos before. They're pretty expensive, and some are a hit and miss.
Is the core high carb? That's my concern, especially for a male cat...making sure it's more proteins than unnecessary carbs...?
It looks like plaque, and maybe it hasn't become hard built on tartar yet. Which, is a good thing. Keep brushing if you can, and monitor. If you find the yellow really going down and the gums aren't swollen or red, then you're doing a good job. I brush my guy's teeth once every two days to every...
My guy seems to like the new Pride Instinct cans....I need to check which ones don't have fish...but they do have some kind of mono-something or another clay in them. What is that and is it a concern? Also noted some veggies like peas and carrots mixed in there. Is it considered a high carb...
I was reading a thread on here a little while ago about seafood and how fish is bad. I feed, in terms of dry, mostly the fancy feast pates. My guy is picky and barely likes anything else. He'll pick at some other brands but then 'meh' and walk away.
I was wondering which brands have options...
But the other ones are expensive too...:/ not just the lamb....and they make it there, so I wonder how expensive it is when they are not importing the meat from another country? Meh, oh who knows....lol
I've tried their store locator and called just about every store....their site is clearly very outdated....the stores here don't carry Dr. Elsey's food...this is the problem I'm having. I just can't find where to get it.
I don't get it sometimes. If we buy a "human grade" can of tuna or canned meat, it costs us a few cents or a dollar at most. But then you buy these tiny cans of meat, which technically aren't even meant for people to eat and take less red tape to process (or so I would think), but charge an arm...
Please help! Especially any Canadians that have had success!
I'm in Toronto and have called just about every pet store that apparently carries (now I know, USED to carry) Dr. Elsey's. Nobody has it anymore. I think there may have been border problems getting it across.
Anyone have any success...
Dr. Elsey's has informed me they currently cannot ship to Canada. They are having some trouble at the border. Unfortunately, looks like we will have to wait, or I have to grab it next time I take a trip to Niagara Falls.

Hey! I noticed a few threads about good qualify dry. Unfortunately, a lot of the brands you guys have in the US we don't carry up here in the great white North. So I'm wondering which dry brands are good options for low carb, high protein....and available in Canada. Specifically, I'm in...
I tend to rotate cans, my guy is picky. Fancy feast classic/pate, Ziwipeaks, Wellness...some others thrown in, and also 2x per week he gets dry, as he loves it and if I had him solely on it he'd probably get addicted. Orijen for dry at this point, trying it out via sample bag.
Looks like we all have picky cats lol. My guy started off on raw when I adopted him...he now turns his nose up and actually shakes his head and shakes his paw off (as if its wet) if I put down raw for him. Almost seems to make him nauseous lol. He goes through phases. He seems to enjoy the fancy...
