I have just taken in a pair of 2 to 3 day old kittens. I have fostered bottle babies before so I kind of have a handle on it. However these babies back legs and tails are always soaked with urine that has leaked while they were sleeping. Has anyone encountered this before?
Four week old Lucky Dice is eating a lot of litter and has had some constipation. Psyllium has helped the constipation. Right now I have replaced their litter with torn up newspaper but I’m worried about teaching them to pee on papers, not a good thing when you have papers sitting out on your...
Hi y’all, it’s been a while! Been a busy year of fostering. My question is about Venus, a foster kitten who stopped gaining weight at about 8 weeks of age. Tried all of the shelter recommendations including high calorie gel and a full round of Biomox. 10 days ago I took her to a vet who...
:wave3:Hello dear, wonderful people on this site. You were all so kind when I posted my previous threads! I am back after what I thought would only be a summertime commitment to foster kittens. I got in way over my head and am taking today, Christmas Eve, to assess and evaluate. So many...
I’m looking into a few things for the shelter where I volunteer. Currently I’d like to ask people about the 30 day pet insurance trial some companies offer as part of adoptions, as well as food ordering, and of course grant information. I’m just a volunteer so I want to know something is going...
I am extremely fond of tuxies and am used to them having the black mask and some form of white on their muzzle or forehead like Oscar in my profile photo. Recently two different sets of fosters have come my way that seem to be a different sort of cat. They have a very definite pattern of white...
This stunning boy came into our shelter last weekend as a stray. He has brilliant blue eyes that don’t show up very well in the photos and areas of mocha coloring that reminds me of Snowshoes but no white feet. Is he similar to a known breed, or just a very exotic tabby?
Hello there, I have begun helping out in a shelter in the last year, and have been fostering cats with feline leukemia. Recently the shelter took in seven feral cats from an endangered colony. Three of them were pregnant and it became apparent that we had no fosters willing to take in wild...
This was moments after he was brought in and he was veryy scared but he did settle down quickly. He’s young and friendly and will get adopted easily. He came in with a flame point sibling. You can just see the pale mocha color on his side. Is he like any known breed?
This thread is intended to follow the experiences of fostering a group of FELV cats for my local no kill shelter. All related comments and discussions are welcome , as always, please be kind .
Shortly after I started volunteering at my local shelter there was a kitty in an upper cage yelling to...
I just brought this beautiful boy home from the shelter where I volunteer. His name is Shawn. When they had him neutered they couldn't find one of his testicles. They did find a small shriveled bit of tissue but could not identify it. So they don't know if he's intact or not , but it seems...
Hi! I got started in some of the forums the other day, but haven't yet introduced my guys.
Here's miss Phoebe, a small girl but so much personality. She lets the other cats know when they've crossed her line.
This is Taz (razzmatazz). What a character! He thought the grandbaby's...
