    Newborns leak urine

In case this info is of use to anyone, the leaking became less frequent starting around three weeks. Both kittens took easily to the cat box. At four and a half weeks they are fully continent and are on their way to being weaned.

    Newborns leak urine

I have just taken in a pair of 2 to 3 day old kittens. I have fostered bottle babies before so I kind of have a handle on it. However these babies back legs and tails are always soaked with urine that has leaked while they were sleeping. Has anyone encountered this before?

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

Finally I can report a positive result! Lucky Dice was still not pooping by Friday despite vet visits and enemas. We started Saturday with the conversation no one wants to have, that he might not recover. Having only passed tiny amounts for two weeks it was getting dire. On Saturday a different...

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

Hi! It’s working for me to put pee pads is their boxes. They dig around which just crumples up the pads but they still use it. Most kittens will eat some litter and that’s normal, these guys just ate too much! It sounds like yours might b doing that too. As to weaning, it seems like they...

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

So after seeing no poops from our babies from Friday to Monday, despite being given a laxative, we were off to the vet. They both got enemas and Potter, the white one, cleared out. But poor baby Dice is still struggling. After two days of enemas and now a new laxative he is slowly eliminating...

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

Thank you, the article tells me what is available. I will probably try the yesterday’s news which I have used before. At that time it was hard pellets, not the soft version, so maybe that will be better. It is not good with odors but since I am only dealing with two babies and their mom I can...

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

It is non clumping clay that Dice is eating quite a bit of, maybe it’s okay and he/she will grow out of it soon. I just wondered if there was another option. Dice and sibling Potter have yet to try solid food but it is constantly available to them in the form of canned kitten food mixed with...

Four week old kitten eating litter, is there a better non clumping litter?

Four week old Lucky Dice is eating a lot of litter and has had some constipation. Psyllium has helped the constipation. Right now I have replaced their litter with torn up newspaper but I’m worried about teaching them to pee on papers, not a good thing when you have papers sitting out on your...

Kitten eats eagerly but small amounts and small poops.

We helped Venus pass yesterday. It had become clear that she had FIP. She had fluid accumulated in her abdomen, was having seizures, and had become wobbly and weak. She purred til the end. She’s free now.

Kitten eats eagerly but small amounts and small poops.

Oh boy, I wrote this last week and just now realized I never hit post! ”Vet appointment yesterday. She still has a fever. Lost 2 oz over the 2 week period. He suspects a virus but says testing to see which one really wouldn’t be of any benefit. He did an ultrasound to look for wet FIP and saw...

Kitten eats eagerly but small amounts and small poops.

We got the test done today at the shelter. She is negative on both. While doing the test the tech commented that her blood was very dark, a sign that she’s not oxygenating properly. Vet appointment tomorrow, we’ll see how it goes. Yesterday was one of her worst days, she did not come out of...

Kitten eats eagerly but small amounts and small poops.

Thank you @FeebysOwner ! She is 17 weeks now and still under 3 pounds. Yes, we monitor her and give fluids as needed. Thank you for the advice and articles about taking temp, I will read them now. We postponed FeLV/FIV test because the shelter does it at spay/neuter surgery, which she has not...

Kitten eats eagerly but small amounts and small poops.

Hi y’all, it’s been a while! Been a busy year of fostering. My question is about Venus, a foster kitten who stopped gaining weight at about 8 weeks of age. Tried all of the shelter recommendations including high calorie gel and a full round of Biomox. 10 days ago I took her to a vet who...
