    best tasting soft food?

My 15-year old cat just had 8 extractions, so he's on wet food only for 2-weeks. He always gets wet in the morning, but is not real happy about the dry being pulled. He likes his wet food (I and Love and You), but I feel I need to add in something extra special over the next two weeks to get his...

    What's Wrong With Kiki's Foot

I know this is an old thread, but my vet (with consult by feline dermatologist) believes my cat's paw pad issue is being caused by eosinophilic granuloma complex. What protocol have you used during these flare ups? We're having a tough time getting control of it. Thank you!

    Atopica + Supplement?

It’s a capsule that can’t be opened, I assume filled with liquid?

    Atopica + Supplement?

Yes we started with the liquid but it runs around $100 per month. The taste is so bad it’s impossible to mix with food. But certainly easier to give him!

    Atopica + Supplement?

Oh yes, he's under a vet's care for the Rx -- 5 years old, 12 pounds. We have a follow up tomorrow. Started with stomatitis, then itchy skin, now pillow foot. Honestly I'd love to find an all natural solution and drop the Atopica completely. He's only been on a few weeks, and I already can't...

    Atopica + Supplement?

For those with kitties on Atopica, is it counterproductive to also put them on an immune support supplement formula? I hate that Atopica suppresses their immune system, so I feel like he needs support in that regard. However, I don’t want to undo what Atopica is doing, if that makes sense?

    Azythromicin - Loss Of Appetite?

Thanks for checking in! I have him on a few supplements now (Plaque Off, Lysine), and changed his food over to all Limited Ingredient Rabbit, as recommended by a nutritionist (chicken = inflammatory). While I still notice a little pain from time to time, he's much better and appetite picked back...

Instinct Original Grain-free Recipe With Rabbit (dry) - Stomatitis

We've been feeding the canned rabbit for weeks, but he's now drawn to my other cat's dry. I'm looking now at the Limited Ingredient Dry, and actually looks perfect! We'll continue the canned too, but I need to feel good about him eating dry when he wants it. Thank you!

Instinct Original Grain-free Recipe With Rabbit (dry) - Stomatitis

Hello! My 4-year kitty recently had several extractions due to stomatitis. Thanks to advice from askariel.com we switched him over to a canned rabbit diet (Instinct) and he's been doing well. My question is, the advice I received mentions kitties w/ stomatitis shouldn't have poultry. Instinct's...

Toothless Young Cat...we Need Food Clarity

Good point about the dry rarely being chewed. Not sure why our kitty won’t go near it now. It’s offered, as it’s what our other kitty still eats

Toothless Young Cat...we Need Food Clarity

Ran across your post as our kitty recently had multiple extractions but still dealing with residual pain. I believe our first step is going to be probiotics and colostrum. I learned about the reasons + benefits here: Stomatitis in Cats Natural Treatment | Treatment for Stomatitis in Cats I'll...

    Azythromicin - Loss Of Appetite?

We're on day 17 of azythromicin, following a "strong" diagnosis of bartonella and 11 tooth extractions + stomatitis. Over the past few days, he's been eating much less, similar to where he was prior to the extractions/diagnosis. Up until this time his appetite had picked up a great deal, eating...

neutered male -- spraying on vertical hard surfaces

We have a 2-year old neutered male who has started backing up and spraying on vertical (usually hard) surfaces -- refrigerator, wall, trash can, etc... He's not real fond of the other two cats in the house, so I assume he's marking his territory. There are a multitude of "fixes" I see online...

two cats, two issues (IBD and urinary), two foods -- losing my mind!

Yes, I certainly appreciate what you're saying! I just know that many vets don't know much about the "alternative" diets available, such as the Nature's Variety. My best bet may the "timed" feedings, to ensure that all 3 cats are eating what they should be eating. My only concern there is...

two cats, two issues (IBD and urinary), two foods -- losing my mind!

So, I have a 16-year old kitty (Sandman) who thru multiple tests (as a result of gradual weight loss) was diagnosed with IBD. He now eats Hill's I/D and gets monthly B12 injections (following 8 weeks of weekly injections). He's back up to 12 pounds now (and gotten under 11) and seems to be doing...

new kitty -- loves people, terrified of cats

We recently adopted a stray, and she is an absolute love bug with people, so it never dawned on me she'd be so terrified of our other kitties. For almost 3 weeks now she's been in our master bath with food, water, and a litter box. If the bathroom door is open, she won't come out of the bathroom...

    Stroke >> Amlodipine >> Lethargy?

    Stroke >> Amlodipine >> Lethargy?

Hi all, our 16.5 year old kitty had been doing REALLY well following a bout with infection last September, but had a stroke on Tuesday. We learned he has high blood pressure which was most likely the cause. He started on Amlodipine 4 days ago, and is either depressed or lethargic. His mobility...

Barely Eating -- Tests Normal -- Gingivitis

Just want to thank you again for suggesting Mr. Grey get tested for FIA. After a couple weeks on his antibiotic treatment, he is doing AMAZING!! He's gaining weight, he's running thru the house, and even his fur looks better than it has in a long time. I had also noticed after you recommended...
